Reverb AXS owners?

So I’m contemplating getting a wireless dropper.
Right now I have a Reverb stealth thats 2 years old exactly. It was initially on my Nomad which has had very very limited use in the two years I’ve owned the Reverb. Various factors stopped me riding but I’m now able to get back out on the bikes much more.
One thing that annoys me is that the Reverb has about 5mm of sag. In the two years Its honestly seen less than 10 hours of riding on the Nomad.
Its under warranty until tomorrow! But not sure if its even worth bothering with trying to return it? It annoys me that its not really function properly even though its had such little use.I have 3 mountain bikes all 31.6 seatpost and all of them could benefit from a dropper post.
So my thought is buying a wireless dropper that I can switch between the bikes as needed. But I’m struggling to find any proper long term test reviews online. All the reviews are the ones dated february this year and arent really long term reviews. I appreciate its not been out long so maybe I need to wait longer for the reviews.
But I want to know if the sagging issue has really been fixed on the AXS version. Its now got a bleed valve they claim sorts the sagging. But does it really work? Anyone own one? Whats your thoughts on it? How often does it start to sag if at all?
I’ll be waiting until it comes down a bit more on price too..
jimmy748Full MemberI’ve had mine since the middle of June so not a long term review but it’s done 4 days in the alps, Bike park Wales and twice weekly rides since then. It’s been completely faultless and I used the bled valve once after it had 0.5mm of sag caused by lifting the seat (MacRide and child onboard, trying to get through a gate).
The speed and accuracy of the drop is a game changer coming from my previous Reverb with 1X remote.
The only trouble is I’m now trying really hard not to buy the matching shifter and mech, if it wasn’t for new wheels and a trip to Finale to book for the Autumn I would already of bought it.
honourablegeorgeFull MemberThere’s a wee hack involving turning the bike upside down and lowering the dropper that max fix (temporarily) that sag issue

tomhowardFull MemberI’ve had one since release, though haven’t ridden it much due to injury. What I have ridden of it though, it’s miles better than the hydraulic versions. The actuation is instant, as in the second you think about clicking the button, it’s moved. No waiting for the lever to move the fluid to the actuation point, its instant.
Can’t comment on the sagging issues, as I haven’t had any that I couldn’t fix (the bike upside down trick works pretty well) but the bleed valve give confidence. I’ll be getting another.

I wouldn’t bother adjusting the saddle position, sliding fore and aft, get a good position for all bikes and set it. And as for angle…
6:20 – it’s literally a 15 second job to adjust tilt.
Sharing between multiple bikes is a great reason for a wireless dropper, unless you get a brandx for each bike it’s probably cheaper if you have 3 bikes too.
The only issue I have with the current AXS reverb is that it’s not based on the new reverb with the shorter stack height and 200mm version!

I’m not sure why you don’t think it would work. I set my saddle height on all 6 of my bikes in a matter of seconds. Its certainly less faff than a rebleed moving my current reverb between bikes.

Thanks, I actualy came across that bodge this morning and tried it. It now feels like its a tiny bit less sag. Maybe only 3mm of sag now but not cured completely.

Good to hear you’ve not had any issues.
I’ve wondered if me lifting the bike by the saddle is what caused the problem.
I’d also love to get AXS shifting for my trail bike. I have Etap red shifting on my road bike and love it. The worry is mechs more likely to get damaged on the mtb. But when I think about it I havent broke a single rear mech on any bike in a crash in over 20 years of riding…The only issue I have with the current AXS reverb is that it’s not based on the new reverb with the shorter stack height and 200mm version!
Haha this is also something I’ve thought about. I suspect theres going to be an updated A2 version of the Reverb axs with 200mm drop. I’d prefer the 200mm but hard to say how long we’ll be waiting for that with axs.
