@sillyoldman I should have included a disclosure in the clue: there’s a number in the answer!

    Oh, very good…

Hmmm… Got about half of these. First time a cryptic crossword has ever made sense to me. Enough to get the 2 word solution without a struggle.

    Still stuck on 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12 – useless 😆

    Stuck on 5, 8 and 12 down.

5 in particular is a mystery, I know what the product reference is (and the brand that sold the product) but no idea what the answer is.

    Edit: now got 5 down.

Done. 8 down was a bit of a stretch.

Sorry, I’m with Mark – those things are utterly incomprehensible to me.

Not at all sure that “Nailed it” is how I would describe my performance on this. I finally resorted to scrolling through Chipps’ Instagram account to solve 12 down…

Do you mean a digit instead of a letter?!

Thanks – I only have that one to get and I feel like I should remember something…
The only cryptic crossword I’ve ever got a single question right!

At last – I spent as much time on 8 down as on the rest of the clues! Don’t know where in my brain the answer even came from in the end!

Never mind the difficulty of the crossword, I can’t seem to keep the answers saved if I leave the crossword for some reason. I’m sure previous crosswords would keep it partially filled in no matter whether you closed the tab or not. What’s changed? Or what am I doing wrong?

The odd thing is that is has saved the time spent so far, but none of the word entries.

    Jesus. At Last!

So much time on 8 – thought I’d already tried the correct answer at some point yesterday….

Just curious if you know how many people actually completed this crossword?

Nearly but still foxed by clue 8. Oh well that’s better than my normal and the clues in the comments above helped.

8 has a digit in the answer. Maybe the Seagraves would have ridden one if they’d been around then? CTCH MY DRFT?

Had to google 1 2 and 15 across as I’d not heard of them.
10 and 12 I figured out on my own and then I “got” the cryptic clues, groan. Top punnage!
