I asked this question once and was told to be carefull as some stripper/undercoat/paint chemicals can intefere with the resin in the carbon. Well worth getting an authority verdict. Especially a frame!

just use a plastic primer (aka, adhesion promoter) before you go on with anything else, should be fine.

Frames only have a nice weave on the top if the manufacturers have put a cosmetic outer layer on, most frames just look a bit of a mess without paint frankly!

No idea how to go about painting it mind!

A little bit colour on carbon does look nice (imho), but you do have to have lots of the black stuff on show too.

Ooh look, here's my frame back from being tarted up 😉

Ensure it's keyed well all over with a very fine wet n' dry.

THen use standard issue plastic primer and an acrylic paint to suit, finish it off with a good quality hard coat laquer and you're there, simples.

i'd probably go for a quick "grey" scotchbrite, followed by plastic primer.

i certainly wouldn't be using acrylic (1k) paint under it, as its terrible.
