Would anyone care to recommend an adhesive to re-stick loose individual parquet tiles?

I have volunteered to help someone with this.

Probably depends if they’re on a backing fabric or straight to floor. If floor, some kind of concrete screed or wood?

    To concrete I believe 🙂

How long ago were they laid?  If there is black bitumen on the floor it may well have asbestos in it.  Just take care.

As above.  Don’t go sanding/chipping off the old adhesive from the floor/blocks.

It was laid 11 or 12 years ago AFAIK, but will exercise caution.

    Any adhesive reccos though?

If it’s just a straightforward replace and stick then an old-fashioned contact adhesive https://diy.evo-stik.co.uk/products/impact-adhesive-tin

Importation of asbestos was finally phased out in 1999, use in building works “shouldn’t” exist after Nov 1999

I’d use a general grab adhesive. CT1 is my go to, used it in quite a few different Jobs with good results. Easy to use and sticks well to lots of different materials.

Don’t use something like No Nails. It has no flex and ends up brittle.

A dedicated parquet floor glue is best.

    Yep, we used this stuff.

Don’t be tempted to use any old adhesive as floors inevitably move as they take up moisture, dry out, heat up etc.

You’ll need a comb to apply it, soudal recommend a specific one which I couldn’t get so just used something close. You can kinda judge how much adhesive you need to give a decent layer once squished down.

It’s messy though. You will need to get someone in to sand the whole room down level and vanish it once you’re done.  You won’t be able to just lift up a few pieces and expect to sit them down perfectly level.  We used a long bit of wood to judge any that were really far off but in general it just looks shit untill you sand it flat.  We laid about 3-4m2 of reclaimed parquet to fill in a gap where a cupboard used to be and it took 2 tubs.

Not sure how much flex you need for a single tile but CT1 stays very flexible.

@chakaping, do you have any pictures of the loose blocks – to get an idea of what kind of parquet it is?

    Thanks for the replies.

We did most of the job yesterday, used 3 tubes of Soudal Fix All to do about 50 of the tiles.

Hopefully they will stay fixed now.

No pics unfortunately, but they are the classic school gym floor type wood blocks iykwim.
