Thats the type of runs I love – yeah the tricks are impressive but that’s not freeride for me.

Interesting hearing the judging process, that they compare runs to pitch the score. So the number given is superfluous, just say, “we think he’s third”.  Scores literally mean nothing in isolation, it’s just a mechanism for ranking.

Brendog’s run as awesome as ever. Just not what the judges want (or red Bull will condone). Loving the crowd reaction to his score though!

My (conspiracy) theory is, the organizers believe that if he wins he won’t return to defend his title. As he’s the most popular rider (in my house, at least) they need keep him coming back year after year so that people keep watching. Without Brendan, Rampage would be nothing!

Yeah – just shows once again Rampage can’t score anything for technical features. It’s all about the tricks and whips. Typical American BS is all about the V8 PoWeR rather than the cornering finesse.

I’m getting more concerned that they are purposely scoring people down to force them to take even bigger risks on 2nd runs for the click and likes of Red Bull

As far as the digging of lines, how does it compare to a golf course, grouse moor or ski resort. It’s pretty insignificant I’d have thought. Nature will reclaim it within a year.

I think I was Brendan I’d already be in the truck on the way to Vegas.  If what he put down is only good enough for 9th in the judges eyes, there’s not much point him risking his life for 8th.

Brendogs run was special, but unfortunately not rampagey enough for the judges again.  Agreed he should just head off to Vegas with his crew now as his line isn’t for tricks. It’s been great watch him build and tick it off this week.

Hope Zink manages to walk this off, worrying that they cut the coverage.

Yeah that was one run and done. Can’t improve on that.
