That 5 10 jacket. Don’t forget the “OUTLET20” code for extra 20%, takes care of postage.

I know it’s picking over the bones but I’ve just ( hopefully 🤔) bought a jersey and 2 pairs of Troy Lee shorts from CRC for £75 , I used PayPal in case ( I usually do anyway )

Scrub that , I’ve had an attack of common sense and cancelled my order, got to stop buying things I don’t need just because they are cheap 🙄

😆 How many of us have a stock of a variety of bits and pieces that we didn’t need but they were cheap on CRC/Wiggle?

It’s payday on Wednesday……must resist one last order (if they are still trading) of things I don’t need but, you know, I might need in the future, and it’s cheap.

Stuff like shorts and jerseys are always worth buying if they’re cheap. They’ll either sit in a cupboard somewhere and get used eventually or, get added into the rotation of other clothes which means spreading the wear and tear meaning stuff last longer.

The TLD Ruckus shorts are excellent. Really well vented for summer.

bens I’ve rejigged my order deleted parts , Ruckus for under £30 , photo shows a liner but description doesn’t mention it so assume not 🤔 Also a Skyline Chill jersey under £30 already got one excellent bit of kit 👍

I may have ordered one last cheap 11-48t 10speed microshift cassette off of Wiggle before they finally shut up shop, I already have other spare 10 speed cassettes. I guess I’m now committed to using 10 Speed.

Wiggle/CRC Hope pro5 rear wheels are down to £216, from £296, for a very fair 80 quid off.

    @oldfart

I think the ones without the liner are listed as ‘shell’.

I bought some from Leisure Lakes (or possibly Merlin) for similar money and they came with the liner and an RRP tag showing £100 more that they cost me. The chamois needs a bit of breaking in but they’re pretty comfy after a ride or 2.

    oldfart

Cheers @bens 👍 Can the liner be worn separate or is it sewn in ?

They’re not sewn in. It’s a seperate pair of undershorts.

Having learned my lesson with Superstar wheels I was doing OK and only buying stuff I need… until I bought a Vitus Sentier that is sitting un-ridden in the shed.  I imagined I would use it but now I’m not so sure… so I’m not sure I’d call it a bargain.

    I feel a separate’what was I thinking’ thread.
Three sets of handlebars, just in case, and a gorgeous stem in a colour that matches nothing.
Although 2 of the handlebars are in big rise to try on my clunker. £7.50 each sooooo…

Sorry if this has been done but Merlin are selling a workshop box of Shimano gear cables for 1/3 of its RRP. Good timing as I’d just run out of the 50p Clarks cables CRC were selling around a year ago. 100 seems excessive but I counted up 15 gear cable systems in use in the house at the minute, and sure, they don’t go off…

Not as good a deal as the box of 100 Shimano stainless steel gear cables on ebay for £40 couple months ago. Doubt we’ll see that again.

Just bought some endura humvee 3/4 shorts for £25.55

    https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/p/endura-hummvee-ii-3-4-length-baggy-shorts?color=greycamo&sizeStandard=L

    https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/p/endura-hummvee-zip-off-cycling-trousers?color=grey&sizeStandard=L

Are those Merlin cables stainless steel?

It doesnt say so, and mentions anti corrosion coating….could they be galvanised?

If the picture on Merlin is correct then those inners are stainless. I still have a pile spare in the classifieds for less than that if anyone needs to stock up mind..

did anyone get on of the cheap exposure diablo mk3 sync last week, mines arrived today and no “QR handlebar mount” in my box, as per description and pictures,
to be honest i think the listing is incorrect as you dont normally receive one with exposure lights.

Beware on the Camber helmet, the straps are in a VERY weird position and the rear one sits on top of your ear instead of behind it.

@whatyadoinsucka I did. Listing was wrong and it wasn’t supposed to be included. I argued that isn’t my fault and they gave me a £20 voucher.

“A bargain is only a bargain if it’s what you’re looking for!”

This is true – which is why I’m claiming this, if they turn up (and I know its an If…) as the bargain of the century. Wanted some ‘nice’ XC wheels for ages, just nearly bought some used crossmax on ebay for more than these have cost.

Zipp Hitop S 30mm Carbon Wheelset. RRP about £1300.

    £286.

    https://www.wiggle.com/search?query=hitop

I’ve just had my order confirmed. I made sure it was confirmed before I posted here.

The even fancier one with ridiculous electronic tyre pressure monitoring is not even that much more either. at £399… The pair. RRP about £1600.

    Mountain Warehouse backpacker tent

    (corrected link) https://www.mountainwarehouse.com/backpacker-lightweight-1-man-tent-p284643.aspx/

use FUN20 to get a further reduction, brings the price down to around forty five quid, has anyone tried one of these?

weight seems good but not sure about the way it seems to open up, fine if it’s not raining but if it is it could get things pretty wet?

    I think I got a Pro5 / Fortus 26 rear wheel in boost 29er size for £62.

Confirmation email doesn’t specify the exact hub setup though, so I’ll be waiting in suspense.

    thx for the headsup

Yep, similar here. Found the perfect wheel and it went out of stock while checking out. Found another with a SRAM instead and bought that. Will see what, if anything, turns up
