L02A and L03A are the same size, just without the fins, I think. Ive used Gorilla pads and currently on some from eBay (NoahandTheo). They’re fine/good. Unfortunately, my commute doesn’t include an alp so I’ve yet to overheat the non-finned ones.

This link seems to suggest compatibility with their road groupsets. So I guess anything that fins those will fit the GRX calipers.

I had it in my head that they were the same as Deore/SLX/XT single pots, but perhaps that’s not the case?

In other (much more exciting) news, my bike is on the way to the local depot.

Are these frames 1x only or could you run a double if you wanted to?

I imagine you might be able to fit a front mech but there are no cable guides fitted for that and there’s a hole for a dropper cable near the bottom of the seat tube that might get in the way.

    Thanks, not by design then.

Previous models came with either 1x or 2x and I don’t think the geometry has changed year on year so the frame may be the same – might be worth an email to Ragley to confirm. Also, the cable guides are bolt and they sell different versions – looking at the bike images it may well come with the triple version anyway.

Is anyone running a dropper? Presumably it is external up until the seat-tube?

    😀

Mine’s dispatched but no tracking yet. Fingers crossed it turns up before the long weekend!

No despatch notification here yet (ordered Friday evening) but then again I stupidly checked out as a guest rather than logged in so maybe I won’t get updates.

    Well done.

And I won’t tell him that he can right click on his image and “Save image link”, then paste that into the IMG tags in the forum software.

    Oh shit.

@TheGingerOne – one image on the Off-Road CC review shows a bottom bracket cable guide in place on a recent purple frame, so it should be quite straightforward to convert to a 2x bottom pull setup.

Very nice.. looks more blue than the expected purple, or is that just down to the lighting?

    Looks lovely.

The hoods on those brifters look absolutely massive in your pics, maybe it’s just the angle though?

Going out on a limb….would prefer purple. Will blend in nicely with the bus stops round here (purple is the office Highland council colour) 😃

Blue is too much like the old fleet of 2007 odd Kona Jake’s I used to look after. Would give me twitching flashbacks to trying to align the pads on those canti brakes made of cheese they had.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a more purple tinge IRL too.

I don’t want people thinking I’m on one of those old Ribble winter road bikes, eh?

    Mine’s arrived 😀

Frame looks very nicely finished and does look more purple-y IRL.

Hopefully I’ll get out for a quick spin this eve and get a pic then.

GRX400 brakes can use K03S and the more recent K05S (no fins)/L05A (fins)
It’s sometimes easier to look for Shimano RS805/RS505 compatible pads; the newer shimano pads last longer.
The disc will specify resin pads (or not)

First job: brake pad screws out, smear with high-temp anti-seize and replace
    Enjoy the new bike

Are the pistons prone to sticking ? I’m getting Grx400 on another bike soon and wonder if it’s a good idea for me too .

Mine haven’t ~3years. The problem is the slot head screw that retains the brake pad (part 11 on this drawing https://dassets.shimano.com/content/dam/global/cg1SHICCycling/final/ev/ev/EV-BR-RX400-4574A.pdf )
If it corrodes it’s a pain to remove

Here are a few pics of mine from yesterday eve.

On Insta so you’ll have to click, sorry (blame STW for never fixing the embed functionality, not me).

Very pleased apart from the rear brake is a bit borked, was getting less power throughout ride until just pulling to bar. I’ll need to see if I can find a leak.

Frame feels comfy. Not sure the 650b wheels will be for me most of the time, but they do kind-of make the trail come alive now and then.

Oh, very purple! In a Cadbury Dairy Milk kind of way.

Still no despatch note for a Friday evening purchase. Still, as I’ve not yet broached the purchase with the household financial manager, that’s probably not a bad think 😃
