Just talking about it. Clarskon is an arse but the response from the veterans was unwarranted. Having said that, I read a book by an ex para who met up with Argentinian vets in Argentina. They treated him well as a fellow soldier and explain how they’d been abandoned by the government when the military dictatorship fell.
Stupid thing for Clarkson to do given heightened tensions.
Stopped watching years ago, well past it’s sell by date imo.
Either that or just too old to understand the reason why so much money is being wasted on dross like that 😐
Last bit was the most interesting bit. Although it’s not sport to see anyone get hurt, there is little bit in me that thought it was interesting to see the tables turn for a change.
And although in this case it’s debatable whether they were actually winding anyone up for a change , it does feel like the classroom joker could learn a thing or two from this experience.

To old to understand it makes the BBC more money than any other program.
That “wasted” money earns the BBC multiple times what it costs to make.
Doesn’t matter if you like it or not, at least you can rest assured that they are arsing about and having fun, so that the BBC can afford to pay to make programs that whiney whingers on the internet might like 🙂
I wonder what would have happened if an Argentinian film crew had staged a similar stunt ending up in Portsmouth? I reckon it’s a good thing that the vets didn’t actually catch up with the crew until the very end of the road.
BTW I was going out with an Argentinian girl in London during the Falklands conflict; she was a lot of fun and against her expectations she was treated with the greatest kindness by everybody here.
