Some great stuff here. Just got a D5100, feeling inspired to learn how to use it properly now! Particularly like ‘A Tale of Two Bridges’, cracking shot

Gaudi’s La Pedrera, Barcelona. Taken on a Panasonic FT-2.

Taken whilst on exercise 2 weeks ago during that cold snap. The lake had frozen all the way across. Panasonic FT-2.

Choice: Watch strictly come dancing or stab myself and take pic of my blood @ 450X magnification.

I think the cell in the middle might be a white blood cell.

Just an old monocular microscope that I got for Xmas when I was 12! (nearly 17yrs ago)

Similar to the ones half way down the page http://www.brunelmicroscopes.co.uk/student-microscope.html

Dslr on a tripod looking down the eyepiece, could be better quality if I had an adapter but it gives reasonable results.

Surface of a fly’s wing – the hairs are in the same order of size magnitude as blood cells!

I’m going to offer some cycling ones, taken today at the Zolder World cup cyclocross. It’s fair to say the conditions were gopping (technical term) and it was really dark, I struggled to get anything like a decent shutter speed whilst keeping the ISO at something sensible, I was at f2.8 most of the time so lots of shots out of focus.

Need to get back when it isn’t chucking it down, has more atmospheric sky and a bit sooner after sunset but I think the idea works……

Weather turned to shit when I got to the top and Creag Meaghaidh is no place to be tardy with navigation so the camera was put away.

This is pretty much the only thread I keep coming back to on STW. Full of inspiration and always respectful of others. Long may it live!

Happy Xmas and New Year to all.

Awesome shots stuartie_c, it makes me massively jealous that my average ride amounts to 20m climbing!

Funny things you see on the trails… Over the last 6 or so years I’ve been riding past this and taking a peek at it as I fly past, but today as I rode past it seems to have grown somewhat. Now there are 2 sections to it, one on the main tree and one behind under the fallen tree. Just to give it some balance I thought I’d stick a very filthy MrSchmancy in the pic..

Just been out for solo ride/hike-a-bike, weather around 13 with a slight chilly wind, superb.

Bit of a sneaky trail but the views are worth it.

Oh, and this from a trip to Paris at xmas, despite just using an iPhone and it being very overcast I dont think it looks to bad (cheers Instagram)?
