    X100 shots are looking nice.

Grum, you have some great stuff there especially the “wild flowers on skye”.

    Cheers :)

Just goes to show though, I went out in extremely unpromising weather and there was just a short spell where the rain stopped.

Don’t normally share the work stuff on here, but had a blast shooting a Don’t Tell the Bride wedding a while back – was on telly last Tuesday. Despite my best efforts, I only got in the way of the film crew twice – my nanoseconds of fame :-)

Well done on the telly appearance Jamie :)

That E Dulwich shot is really nice too, and I like your first one RD.

Took some pics at a friend’s gig the other night.

This wasn’t strictly taken in the last month, but it was uploaded in the last month as the place is now secure – and, hey, it’s bike content :-)

Bit of a sad ‘what tyres’ re-hash of a question really……..however……….. which cameras would be good to start off with to get good quality pics? See things like Lumix G and Pen etc on the ads.

Do a fair bit of biking but also walks with the gf and dog and would like to try and take some nice pictures evetually perhaps having prints made to put up around the house.

Keep posting the pics they’re a real inspiration :-)

I’d look at a secondhand DSLR. Canon 350d/400d. Great camera, had mine 5 years now!

Something small enough that you carry and use all the time. GF-1, GX1, Pen, Fuji X100/10 etc all good. Or small DSLR as noted above. Try it out in the shop though and maybe check out dpreview.com

Not Jessops though – avoid the guy with the pony tail. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. There’s one in every one. :-)

Here’s a few from Berlin, all taken with the GF1. As a little experiment, all the editing was done on Filterstorm and Snapseed on the iPad. :)

Wow, this thread gets better and better! Some amazing work in the 3 weeks I’ve been away.

A couple now from a while back in Wales, but hopefully I’ll have the 3000 or so I took in Tassie and the Great Ocean Road condensed into something a bit more workable in a few days for a brief vanity trip ;-)

    Question for grumm and zokes.
How do you guys get your pics so clear and sharp?
    Is it?
    the camera?
    the lens?
    shutter speed?
    aperture?
    lens?

    Although not addressed to me

Camera – no, not really if you have a modern DSLR. People have been making sharp images on film cameras for years.
lens – yes to a certain extent. Cheaper ones wide open are softer.
shutter speed – yes potentially, good technique holding the camera will help.
aperture – yes, each lens has a sweet spot for sharpness.

Some post processing subtle sharpening may have taken place also.

Worth having a look here also http://makingsharpimages.com/

Gah, as great as this thread is – in fact, I’d say the best thread ever, it frustrates me. I have a shiny new Sony A55, which has only taken a handful of photos. I work all week on the Olympic site and cameras are not allowed on site, so can’t keep it in my truck – I’ll be buggered if I’m leaving it in my hotel room, so it stays at home :x

Found on the ride into work….

Si demonstrates the correct line at Smallcombe Rocks shortly before one rider takes the wrong line and fractures his arm & wrist :-(
