Sometimes the story behind the photo is easy to imagine, however, how DrJ got the balerina in full flight on a pedestrian crossing intrigues.

So has polarisandy got a stalker or is there a sort of photo trail of neglected properties somewhere up north?

A typical crowd pleaser but I’m not so keen.

Hah, nice one Sofaking, good to see the same spot in a different light, look forward to more.
That particular village had untold riches.
It was the South end of the village to the big house with the wardrobe and cloths.
    Same as the bathroom shots.

Enjoyed the mountain pass back to Tarbert.
Very different landscape from the rest of the Hebrides.

I had the opportunity to practise making formal ‘studio’ style portraits with a fascinating and very fine young man called Callun. He’s a parkour practiioner and a very good one. He’s only 18 but he runs a local community project teaching and coaching kid in parkour. What he’s acheived is to be admired.

Anyway, he’s been looking to do some TV work and I offered to help him create a portfolio of headshots (for free). He needs the shots, I need the practise so it was a win/win.

I’ve not really done anything like this before. In truth I was simply setting up in my living room with a white sheet pinned across an alcove as a backdrop, so it’s all still quite limited but it was an interesting exercise and I like some of the results:

lovely work Greg and well lit/observed. i think 1 and 3 are the hero shots, i would drop 2 and 4 myself.

edit: actually the more i look at no 1 the more i like it, the angle of cheekbone to elbow, the way the fingers point to an imaginary place where the eyes gaze, it ticks all my visual language classical art rule boxes

Wow, I think I might be blushing! That is the second time you’ve paid my work a compliment and given your talent I can’t see myself getting bored of the experience!

Some fantastic stuff in here, would live even half the vision to spot some of these shots.

I’ll join in with a relatively poor phone shot that’s a tad over processed but I wanted a dark look…

We were promised a lot of sunshine that didn’t arrive (boo!) so I just chilled and played with a flash. This was about 2:30. Wish I’d taken a second flash.

OK, it’s wasn’t taken this month, but I’ve just been going through my old PC that I haven’t switched on for years. I found this one, taken of two good friends of mine during a road trip in Canada:
