Only the highlights are showing. Live only online via Discovery+? I'm pissed if that's the case.

That appears correct. I'll stick discovery on. But a little weird.

Bugger. Tom Pidcock "deselected" for Ineos. Looks like the rumoured move is causing rifts

Romain Bardet but starting either, not sure why

Sounds like more than a rift given he was second favourite to win. Hard to imagine they'd pull him out unless there's a legal requirement to do so. I suspect he's done his last race with Ineos.

Especially as he commented he was ready and feeling great.

Tbh I don't think ineos is or was ever the perfect team for him. He's a bit rogue interns of a bit of cx, a bit of XC, bit of road, ineos all seems a bit too structured to me.

I mean Pidcock has done pretty well in cx, MTB and road whilst at Ineos tbf! He seems to be a fairly 'confident' type....not sure how well that fits in a road team. Look at WvA and the work that he does as a domestique....Pidcock doesn't do anything like that level of service for team mates. Not specifically a criticism, but I find it hard to see what top team he'd go to where he'll get more freedom and support?

He's said to be wanting to focus more on road in the coming years so maybe slightly less flexibility is needed? Where is he rumoured to be heading? He's obviously leaving Ineos and that team really does seem to be coming apart at the seams currently.

Q365 is the team being bandied about.

Are they moving to WT? Seems an odd move if not?!

TBF he’s not missing much watching from home. Probably going to catch up on 2min YouTube highlights later

I turned off with 20km to go.

On Pidcock - they mentioned on the cycling podcast that the owner of Q36.5 is worth £11B. So potentially plenty of money to buy him out from his contract.

Seems like Eurosport did me a favour.

I suppose that's the greatest cycling season of all time? Two monuments, Giro plus 6 stages, Tour plus six stages and RR WC.

Reading that back.....as a career palmares it'd put him well up there, to do it in a single season is just nuts! It was fun to watch in the TdF given that he'd never really bested Vingegaard and there was that sense for a while that the wheels could fall off. It's been a bit boring otherwise though I suppose.

Commentators were saying it was 25 wins in 57 days of racing. Which is insane and impressive but sadly also rather dull.

I turned it on with 45km to go and it wasn't a race, it was a procession. The only even vaguely exciting bit was seeing the third group on the road fighting it out for 3rd place.

World Track Championships next week from Denmark, thankfully Pogacar doesn't race track!

57 days racing.....say what, 12 which would've been GT sprint stages, so he wasn't really racing them as such. Must've been a few other sprint stages in the other stage races that he did..... probably closer to 25 wins from 40 actually winnable race days for him!

Greatest cycling season? Big call, and a bit too 'roadie' for my liking.

I'm sure this is a MTB website, so forgetting Nino's 2017 is a bit of a fail. Won Cape Epic, then won every single XCO World Cup, and followed up by winning the World Championship in Cairns, Australia.

Genuinely can't tell whether or not this is a troll post

Yes obviously a top drawer rider with one season on the road and never having won a top level road race - big fish in a very small pond in 2017.
