Details just released; 600 grams saved over the ali model, Threaded BB, Bottle cage mounts, easy internal cable routing and a really nice blue colour! Looks good to me.

Details JUST released even though we have a demo bike and customers already riding 😀

We weighed to medium frames minus seat clamp and axle as per ‘the rules’ and got 6.22lb for the raw and 6.38 for the blue, so both quite a bit lighter than the 6.5 quoted which is nice. Really tidy frames.

I am supposed to be riding our demo over the xmas break but injury is holding me back just now, fingers crossed to get a few in.

What are these going for price wise?

    pigyn

Frames are £2599, so towards the cheaper end of carbon frame only enduro machines these days. Still not cheap mind, but cheaper than an Evil Insurgent/SB6c/Nomad etc

    Ouch. What’s the warranty?

    pigyn
    Free Member

Well, you COULD buy a frame/fork/wheelset combo and get it for £2339 😉

TR warranty is 2 years, which is a bit shorter than some but we have been doing them for over four years and the very few problems that have come up were resolved very quickly. Solid bikes, and good backup.

Not a lot! It lists at £2600. The Bronson comes in at £2800 with a Fox X EVOL rather than a monarch and has a lifetime warranty.
    Lovely bikes though.

    I know! It’s an OUTRAGE!

Personally as someone with a penis I found the Carbon Covert more offensive than the Plastic Patrol

Probably the first Transition I would consider owning. Shame they couldn’t have been a bit more subtle with the graphics. The solid blue looks better without the writing all over it.

    Not for £2600 though.

Well as someone with a penis over 1 inch long, I know how money and value works……

Agreed, SC warranty is great. The Evil is £2800 with a Monarch and a warranty you might have to use

Specialized could learn a lot from the “Bottom Bracket Storage System” and “Put A Bottle And Stuff In There”.

The blue is lovely and hopefully my next purchase, just 600g weight saving though, whats that a jar of mayonnaise?

£2,600 😯 I’ll be riding my 26″ Covert for a good while yet. I thought £1,200 for a frame was quite a lot.

600g – approximately the difference between a full camel back and one 3/4 full

I’ll be on my Covert one more year, really wanted one of these but mainly for the colour, and that’s just ridiculous! So 2017 alu Patrol it will be for me

I heard rumours Transition were doing another carbon bike. I’m glad its not the Scout, I would find it hard to resist a carbon Scout even though I absolutely love my Bandit and have no money for a new frame.

Usually if there is something wrong with the frame it’ll make it self known within 2 years so I’m not bothered by this. Also I believe Transition have a lifetime crash replacement policy.

£2600 is what my carbon Capra full bike cost with new Lyriks, Stealth Reverb, 1×11, Monarch RCT3 etc

I think Transitions ‘humour’ is puerile and dated. I say that as someone who has ordered one of these and now wishes to a degree that he hadn’t. It’s all a bit lame and desperate IMHO.

Well put, things cost different amounts, I’m amazed nobody has made that point before.

At least we can be certain where the Cove marketing team ended up now

Haha legend, made me think of cove too.

Looks a nice frame, but £2.6k and a 2 year warranty is just taking the piss IMO.

I don’t think I saw any info about the quality of the carbon either, just a load of puerile gags.

Well I was just responding to the idea that £2599 is at the cheap end of carbon enduro bike frames. No need to be so sarky really was there.

Just got my ally patrol (highlight yellow) last month… absolutely love it.
Really looking forward to riding it for 4months in the Alps next year with trailAddiction.

I have no doubt the new carbon one will be nothing but superb

Wonder how much of the 2600 is the cost of the frame? Seriously curious.

    Lyrics – 600
    Reverb – 180
    Shock (RC3) – 300
    Wheels – 500
    Rest – 400 ?

Leaves just over 600 for the frame and profit.

That can’t be right. Someone in the biking industry tell me how they do it please.

    chakaping

Cut all those amounts by half (or maybe two thirds) darrenspink.

As an outside bet they’re not paying full mrrp for the components.

    Obviously.

Still doesn’t leave a lot for the frame build and company costs/profit.

    @pigyn what frame/fork/wheelset combo for £2339?

No doubt @pigyn will be along in a minute to confirm, but I took this to mean they do 10% off the package if you buy the complete rolling chassis from them – i.e. you choose wheels and fork, and get 10% off the whole lot. The frame element of this bundle therefore costs £2339.

Makes me laugh people comparing it to capras. YT Carbon isn’t exactly the best. I’ve broke my tues and between me and my mates 7 Carbon YT’s have died.
