I have never been anti e-bikes as such however I have never really found one I liked the look of until recently. I know it is shallow but I like my bikes to look like bikes and always struggled with the look of your traditional e-MTB but then came along the YT Decoy SN. Test ride done, and loved it, application complete for cyclescheme and bike on order. Then everything went to sh!t. Turns out there was an issue where I couldn’t use cyclescheme due to the business unit I worked in, I could only use the Halfords option which wasn’t accepted by YT. It was a sad few weeks as I cancelled the order and wept over my keyboard as HR delivered the news.

Then I decided that I was still having something and thanks to some luck, a piggy bank that had more money in than I realised, and a good deal, I found another bike that almost had the same visual appeal. It may not have the motor hidden away like the YT but it still manages to make me smile when I look at it, the paintwork is lovely, and the spec doesn’t leave much to upgrade other than maybe the dropper lever(and yes, a number of people have done the “you can upgrade those tyres for Contis straight away” thing). Haven’t ridden it yet due to some digging commitments, but really looking forward to getting out on it. Comes with a range extender as well but have no idea what this all means in usage terms, it will be fun finding out.

Took me 8hrs to Ridewrap the damn thing mind, and i have just finished charging the bike and the gears and ready to set up the suspension. There seems to be a different type of faffage with the ebike side of MTB and I am sure it won’t be long before I am stuck in one gear thanks to forgetting to charge something. The photo does nothing to show the paintwork off, it is really bright and metalliky in real life rather than dull and matt in the photo.

It didn’t break the bank, it absolutely smashed it. The bike account is empty and needs rebuilding.

Very nice. Your rug looks a bit threadbare.

    Nice e-bike. I quite like the mid-power e-lyte too.

Drive side against the curtains, you’re brave!

    It’s this isn’t it?

    Bloody nice ebike

Your bike looks amazing – and your photo really doesn’t do justice to that paint! Really top notch spec too (if you wear the floating rotors out after a few thousand miles, the fixed Hope ones are much thicker and work really well in the V4 calipers).

Those curtains hide a nightmare of a garden don’t they? Long grass, unpainted fence, unswept leaves; the whole works. You animal.

    Nice bike.

    Nice.

See how you get on with the 36T chainring, I felt it too big.

e-bikes are brilliant had mine for about 8 weeks now.

Yes there is still a place for analogue bikes but there’s a lot of situations where imo an e-mtb just wins
