Wow. great pics everyone. love druidh’s, grum’s, peterfile’s, mattoaa’s… and the rest! Matt – I’ve stood by that tree in the falls of dochart skimming stones! That must have been some big rain?
Nearly went up for our honeymoon, but we thought October might be pushing our luck. It’s still only a drive away, we’ll be spending a fair bit more time up there, for sure.
Most recent trip was early august for a (pretty great) work trip. I’m still kicking myself I didn’t take a proper camera, but I’m quite chuffed with the way these stitches worked out, given they were taken on a blackberry.
Bloody hell, but there’s some outstanding photos in this thread! Too many to single out individual pics, and it wouldn’t be fair, they’re all so good, although I particularly like Grum’s Callanish Stones photo, I have a thing for standing stones, Avebury being very local to me.
These photos show how astonishingly lucky we are to have such breathtaking scenery in our little group of islands. One day I’ll get up to Scotland, but I’d want to stay there for weeks, to really appreciate it. 😀
Just listening to Karine Polwart’s new album and looking through these wonderful photos again, and it all just fits together perfectly. Druidh, I love the Brocken Spectre, but there are just so many beautiful photos here, thank you to everyone who’s contributed.
Slightly less big, pointy, rocky bits, but Highlands nonetheless:

‘Gorms within an hour of home for the big stuff, beautiful beaches and coastline a couple of miles away and the closest distillery to home is 10 minutes’ walk!
Just had a look back through this thread, I’d forgotten how many beautiful photos there were in it. Sadly, quite a few don’t show any more, a lot of those Flickr pics, which is a shame. Still inspirational, though.
