I tuned in, saw Barton, Morgan and a Ukipper and decided going to bed would be a better option.

This. Odious human beings the lot of them.

    Clarkson?

That didn’t take very long 🙄

Is there a new version of Godwin’s Law for this ?

The BBC has had it’s hand forced really. If you just had the present crop of bland anodyne career politicians on, they’d just sit there repeating sound bites about ‘hard working families’, and quoting statistics at each other. Then about 3 people would watch it.

Therefore, when you think about it, Joey Barton is actually a metaphore for modern society

And if you think what he said was offensive, you’ve clearly never been properly offended! What mind of bedwetter regards a statement like that as offensive? Except the type the world now appears to be full of? The professionally offended, who seem to spend their sad, petty, joyless lives looking for the next thing to be outraged about 🙄

Interesting that isn’t it? Being offensive no longer gets you noticed. Being offended does.

TBH I think the BBC should be apologising for the choice of panel, Barton’s got nowt to apologise for. On this one occasion anyway, he’s probably got 10 million things to apologise for otherwise 😉

Thats the best form of defence it seems- be offended, make yourself sound more offended and it makes the person sound like a **** for daring to say it to you.

Binners you really do sicken and disgusts me. I’m vomiting into my bin by my desk here just thinking of the outrageous of your being.

    Adopts the Junkyard defence:

What if he’d punched her in the face on live TV? Would it be ok to be offended then?

    (Only jokin junky 😉 )

you leave our plastic socialists alone. Junky and binners need protection and respect not your slander or my sycophancy.

His address to the UKipper would have been better delivered with a French accent.

He called another teams player in the French league an overweight ladyboy

Sorry 😆 I’m warming to him.

Is he apologising to all of the ugly girls in the world, just those who were offended, just those who use twitter or just those who follow him on twitter?

    It’s proper complicated.

Never mind that he thinks that Ukip are prettier than all the other main parties!

Hmm. From what I recall of the Mirror’s video (and I am not watching it again to check), he wasn’t speaking for himself with that metaphor, but for the people who did vote UKIP.
(Although he may well do for all I know)

He has come out with some classic one liners on twitter, he made one about needing Isambard Kingdom Brunel to help rebuild bridges with Newcastle that had me chuckling.

I also read an interview with him a few years ago, where is stated how he regretted the way being immersed in football from a young age had ruined his education. He does seem fairly self aware and knows his shortcomings, but doesn’t quite have the ability to express himself as well as he would like.

.. he just they weren’t the ugliest, not that they were the prettiest.

I actually think he made a very valid point in an amusing way. Many people have turned to UKIP as being the lesser evil of the main parties.

I’m agreeing wholeheartedly with numbers on this. Though I can’t believe he fed a vegan a cheeseburger rather than a steak bake.

A little bit of the BBC died last night.

Barton is a halfwit, but that is not in itself a problem. The major issue he is a halfwit with delusions of grandeur. He has a bit of a messiah complex as well. Ironically it is a scouse term that describes him most accurately – gobshite.

Piers Morgan is not a halfwit. But he dedicates whatever limited intelligence he may possess exclusively into being a self-aggrandising shit. I really could spend at least a whole week punching his fat, smug face.

I really hope David Dimbleby at least put up some kind of objection to having these two tossers on QT, but then having put up with elected halfwits for god knows how long he probably can’t be arsed any more. It doesn’t take a genius to work out why Paxman gets so hacked off with it.

There are many politicians and pundits who are worthy of being given a platform. Some who’s ideas I disagree with, but I respect their ability to think.

I’ve got 4 daughters, I wonder which one he’d think was UKIP, tbh I’d never heard of him he sounded like a scouser wendyballer so his opinion was of no consequence to me and anyway I’d dozed off at that point, but tell me what’s the difference between him and those Opera critics that called that singer squat and fat, it’s just a symptom of society today.

In return he took an insult about footballers’ intellect and apologised for his comment. Don’t see what all the fuss is about.

Maybe it’s because he said it to a woman and people don’t really understand metaphors?

He should try an analogy to meat eaters on a vegan thread 😉
