Am due to be going to India in just under a month a need to get a tourist visa.

Had an appointment booked to sort visa but had to cancel at last minute.

Next available appointment at vfs is after I depart.

Does anyone know if there is a way to fastrack a tourist visa?

It really wasn’t hard to find the answer

British passport holders require a visa to enter India. Fortunately, UK passport holders can apply for the essential travel document online. The Indian eVisa process is fully electronic with no need to attend an embassy or consulate in person.

    Thanks

E-visas look to be currently suspended for UK passport holders so it’s a paper job

You can fastrack but it isn’t cheap but it tends to get everything done in about 4 days…I was lucky enough to go for work but as I’m a foot soldier I had to sort my own visa out – which took a few days and then a day to visit the visa office to get it all sorted. For the managers they got the fastrack option and it was all done in 3 days and they didn’t do anything other than provide a copy of their passport, but apparently it costs a few hundred quid!

Forgot to say…you could turn up and see if they have a space. A couple of people did that when I was there…they were still there when I returned 3 hours later but we’re told they would get seen that day. Think they were charged a fee for that.

A work colleague was telling me his daughter was struggling to get a visa, apparently the UK has restricted Indian visas so this is reciprocal.

There’s a reason that there are hordes of companies specialising in fast-tracking Indian VISA’s…

What kinda crap company do you work for that is quite happy for you and other non-Managers to waste a days’ work plus all the other fannying about?

    India loves
    A) paperwork
    B) obstructive, lengthy processes
    C) lack of clarity over A) and B)

(Indian born, with family still there and regularly travelling there).

    Nope.
We’ve just scrapped our holiday to Goa for January only down to the fact you HAVE to attend a visa centre in person & unless you’re willing to sit on a device all day, every day to hopefully even find a slot never mind book one.
Seemingly only the UK & Canada are having such issues & yes, I believe it’s a tit for tat thing.
Off to Thailand for some January warmth instead.
