    Let then grow then get the local farmer round with one of theose vertical hedge cutting machines
    20 seconds later and the hedge will be very one sided and hopefully droop across his driveway
    Dont do it Mar – May as its nesting season for baby robins

    I’ll have to get my chainsaw serviced up ready for the first hedge trim later this year…..

    You’re certainly not being unreasonable. Hedges can be such a PITA. Despite our neighbour being a knobber about our hedge, we have managed to be amicable about it. He stops cutting it back in his side and we keep the height down from our side.
    It’s beech, so grows very easily, makes a nice dense barrier throughout the year. Means we don’t see him.
