Ok, I am well informed that this has been discussed (at length) on here.

What I am wondering is, what is the best loop around Hollinsclough to include all the good descents around Tenter Hill & Booth farm area.

Want to make it part of a big White Peak day out if possible.

Ta

Honestly I wouldn't bother.

Every couple of years I get a hankering to go up and do the Hollinsclough drops and then after doing them I vow never to bother again.

They are too out of the way to build into a decent loop. At the bottom of a valley means big climbs to get out again. They are too short also to be worth it. Muddy as fuk and too technical to be enjoyable. There are much better loops to be had over the hill in Gradbach or Macc forest. 🧐

It is a bit isolated and agree with jekkyl that it's not especially worth it - can easily be done mind, you just need to be content with a lot of road pulling out toward three shires head, or go the other way and pick up pennine bw toward dark peak. Better loops to be had.

I'm not incredibly familiar with the area, but I was lead on this ride which took in 3 good descents:

Thanks all, sounds a bit naff then. I am not a fan of mega tech steep descents, I like the swoopy swoopy stuff with flow (!)

Any one got any good loops in that area then or maybe Gradbach area? I am a Dark Peak rider so have not done a great deal of white stuff. Maybe I should buy that book.

It's not super-tech apart from maybe 2 meters of it. But nether is it swoopy - have you ridden in the Peaks before haha!
