If it is I guess it could be in two different styles.

    1. Mixing 700c and 650b

    2. Just mixing tyre widths

Is it a thing and do you?

Different wheel sizes is a thing, I’ve not tried it though.

What’s the reasoning for the wheel size mulleting?

I really like riding mullet MTBs for the extra bum clearance riding steeps and the way they turn into corners on rut tracks. I don’t do those things on my gravel bike though.

Is it for getting bigger tyres in frames that were not designed for them?

I have been wondering why most gravel bikes seem to have the same tyre width and tread pattern front and rear, I quite fancy trying something faster rolling on my rear.

no reasoning, I was just pondering. But I was thinking perhaps a wider rear tyre for arse comfort might be nice.

But as for same size wheels, or just a wide rear, narrower front , no idea , just a thought.

I’d more likely run a bigger front tyre, but wouldn’t want to change wheel size to accommodate it.
