SHUT UP!!
Been 4 times & would normally have been ‘goan’ again in January except for family issues (Going to La Palma instead, bugger)
The visa fee is basically taking the piss, £92+ when the Russkies can go for £42? & have you ever tried applying for one? That’s another story.
It’s not cheap to get there but once your’e there it is. Food’s cheap, beer’s cheap, gin’s cheap (£1.00 a ltr) taxis are cheap.
1st time we went we took anti malaria pills but stopped taking them after a week & haven’t bothered since. Only had the runs once. (which is a testament to my constitution when you see the state of some of the restaurant kitchens!)
The Goan people are fantastically friendly but remember theyr’e trying to make a living out of you! We even went to our taxi drivers house for a meal his Mum had made for us. (I actually thought we were being kidnapped to start with) It was a very humbling experience that I’ll never forget.
Just Go!
Edit. It’s not full of flies.
You do get pestered a bit but not as bad as Egypt!
The sea is a bit dodgy to be fair but people still go in.
Edit again. It’s cleaner than some parts of Leeds. & that’s a fact!
