This case should revolutionise policing in France

Not sure the UK can point the finger at France on the policing of sex offences

Why, what policing mistakes were made? Were they policing mistakes, or areas where French law had gaping holes?

Bit of both – given that Mr Pelicot was implicated in rape and murder on at least one previous occasion and then went on a 10 year spree with multiple co-offenders.

‘We’ cannot. Maybe everyone should do better. My comment wasn’t pointing a finger as such. Do you think the French policing and legal system should not conduct some kind of a review as a result of this case?

I’m sorry if I took your comment the wrong way – of course the whole French judicial system needs to review what lessons can be learned from this awful case.

Likewise – sorry for my snappy response.

Further up the thread I was ludicrously accused of being borderline ‘racist’.

That wound me up a bit, TBH. Hence, I’m a bit prickly about this thread.
