Has anyone reviewed the USE carbon bars – they seem to be light but how strong are they?

High bars FTW. Pump those numbers up!

Little Feat what a great band, Willing one of their finest tracks, Lowell George left the planet too soon.

T-Shirt print from back in the 80’s “My Father knew Lowell George” 🙂 (for the historians out there).

I was only talking some younger MTB buddies about Little Feat and Lowell George while on a ride in the Purbecks last Sunday, spooky!

I’ve been interested in sticking some higher rise bars on my XL 2019 Orbea Rallon so I don’t feel like I’m bent right over (ooerr). Currently it runs RaceFace bars with a 10mm rise, would those 35mm rise ODub bars affect the handling at all? What changes could I expect?

Your hands will be 25mm higher than before and you might be more comfortable. That’s my experience anyway. Other people will tell you that you’ll be understeering wildly off the trail at every corner as if you don’t have flexible elbows.

When will MTB jersey designers start putting decent collars with zips in their jerseys? I find riding with crewnecks really uncomfortable and restricting but only road jerseys seem to have zips.

I’m with you on this @ThePinkster. I live somewhere hot and sunny and mostly I wear rare long sleeve roadie shirts because they have high collars, zips, pockets and long sleeves. I want to keep the sun off my arms and neck but I do get kinda hot, so a zip is welcome.
I’m getting into long sleeve loose mtb tops and cargo bib shorts but the neck thing is still a problem for sun exposure.

That Sesame St clip is great! Although James Gandolfini still cuts a terrifying figure while showing a more vulnerable side. Makes me want to watch the Sopranos again.

@philstone There’s not enough danger money in the world for that.

I’m with you @thepinkster – all cycling jerseys should have zipped collars (preferably the concealed 3/4 sort). If I want to look like I’m riding in a T-shirt, I’ll ride in a T-shirt…

@philstone – I bought and fitted the previous 780mm version of the USE bars to my full-susser when I bought it a couple of years ago, along with the matching Vyce stem. I don’t do big jumps, but do get airborne a bit and like to hammer the descents. At 90kg I’m on the heavier side.

I love the bars for shape and comfort and they’ve been rock solid in use. After a couple of months of owning them I bought a second set for my hardtail which have been equally impressive.
