some modern Lego models look a bit to smooth to me. I prefer the old style blocky sharp corner versions that I had as a kid (and still have).

Yup. I remember when a ‘car’ was made of one plate, two window pieces, two wheel/axle sets, and three blocks. Oh, and maybe some stickers for lights. On rare occasions, I’d actually get a Lego car for being good.

The last one I build with Jr was this:

Looking to see what he wants for Xmas as he fancies getting a lot more technical this time.

What’s the biggest/most complex/time consuming Lego set you can go out and buy now? (Preferably non star wars/scifi) I fancy a winter build

Just a heads up for lego fans, there is a promotion just started with Shell petrol, it’s a series of Ferrari cars and a lorry, as well as a shell lab set.

That Lego room is absolutely awesome you lucky man, got a few bits of lego star wars around my house, but nothing on that scale.

The Lego jet engine at Rolls Royce is amazing – saw it when my lads Cub pack had a tour of the museum, so glad it was my rota’d night to help out!

Just got back from the closing weekend at Legoland Windsor – it was dead on Sunday, nice bright day, rides to ourselves practically. Kids love the Surfrider thing, I quite like Atlantis, simple but clever idea.

The fireworks were great, especially woth the “special” glasses!

The Lego Cargo train has a good discounted price of £86.66 at Amazon at the moment. It’s been this price for 24hours but I wouldn’t expect it to last much longer:

Here’s my collection. Not quite a Lego room yet, just a Lego shelf, but its a start and will grow over Christmas….

Mate of mine has that B-wing, it’s really nice (the star destroyers are just a bit too epic for me)

Warren Elsmore has an exhibition on in Paisley just now, lego architecture. Haven’t been but thought it might be of interest.
