Other than being really pissed off, is there any reason to report one with only sketchy details of the car/driver?

No injuries and the bike’s seems fine…

If you can’t identify the car plates, no point IMO, unless the stats matter enough to you.

Even when you can, the polis (IME) say without witnesses there’s no point in pursuing it.

Wait in hiding for the driver next morning then?

Pair of pliers and a blowtorch…

Got to agree. I got reversed into a few years ago in my car. When I got out to get drivers detail she told me to **** off and drove off. Got car reg and had a witness, reported to police and wern’t interested. All they did was call the person and ask them to get in contact with me. Eventually had to get insurence company to fight it and took 3 months to get it fixed. Totally useless!!!

Sometimes you need to poke the police a few times to get them to follow stuff up – if you have the details (reg) and you make a fuss they have to play ball.

    They’ve always been good IME.

Mind you I did find out later that the officed the took the details was friends with the girls dad. I had told the officer she was acting like a psycho and he told her dad what I had said. He was a typical bent copper if you ask me.

It was an honest question soobalias – not a rant, although I guess I wanted to get it off my chest.
