Among the list of usual suspects, Trapattoni has achieved what he has been threatening for a while with the (other) green machine – qualification for a major championship.

We drew 1-1 at home with Estonia this evening, but it was the 4-0 hammering at the weekend that sealed it for us.

And why wouldn’t he, with players from teams like Wolves, Leicester, Ipswich, LA Galaxy, Stoke, Fulham, Aston Villa, West Brom, Birmingham…

    Erm…

Anyway, well done Trap. Nice bloke and a top manager to get a qualification for Euro 2012 from the squad he was given. See y’all there. 🙂

Good work Dd! Deserved to be there after the last injustice! Hey, but that’s football!

    Good work Dd!

    😆

You obviously caught my occasional cameo as last minute super-sub-striker then wrightyson.

Nah seriously, the last injustice was (in a way) soothed by Les Cheats’ shameful capitulation in South Africa where they made fools out of themselves on a world stage…not that any of us are bitter. 😉

I’m not a massive fan of footie but they’ve been greater than the sum of their parts and they deserve a trip to the finals.

That was shameful what happened in the France game. Henry shooduv gone to the ref and owned up. Was surprised at him tbh.

That sounds delicious Effin – how did you cook the seaweed? Or was it takeaway?

And bring on England in the group stages. Got a win and a draw in previous campaigns…

Tbh, England would be one of the easier sides to draw. 🙂

It was great to see them through and as you say Trapattoni is doing a top job. It’s Spains to lose but they well might both Italy and England have beaten them recently, friendly or not a wins a win.

Your teams no way as bad as you make out Wolves, Sunderland, Fulham, Everton are all top sides okay they are not challenging for league titles but not everyone can be barca!

I only watched the England first half, I think finally Capello is getting that Italian stamp on it, 1 nil wins are fine by me. Having said that Rodwell can not miss like that against better opposition, it worries me that Frank Lampard is our best finisher. Non of our strikers have that van persie or david villa finishing touch. If we get to the quarters or  semis with a decent draw that’ll be good and we are in the toughest pot which means a better draw. Although we can’t start the tournament with a draw excuse the pun.

Ireland are in the weakest pot so will get a tougher draw, you could end up with Poland, Russia and Sweden or you could end up with Spain, Germany, Croatia. Greece won it not so long ago so Ireland could easily have a good run.

Either way great to see out neighbours through. Wales and Scotland are not to shabby at the moment either.

I think a lot of people though of Henry as a premier league legend until this moment, now he is just another great footballer in my eyes… disgraceful moment really, sad as until them i though so much more of him really…

No. Struggling to understand Gary? Or just feeling the need to be negative? 🙂

Just after some clarification, I thought the thread would be a detailed itinery of a European road trip, with maybe some biking thrown in. 😉

Sorry to disappoint. Though, at post 4 or 5, you ought to have got the drift to be honest. 🙂

Why are you being so negative? You could have just said, ‘the Royal we’re going.’ 🙄

Well done Ireland! Only fair after what happened last time. Trappatoni’s done wonders for them, will be interesting to see how they do at the actual tournie. I’d say, if they are really unlucky with the draw, they’ll have a fighting chance to make the next round.
