Use the toilet you dirty bastards.

I’ve tried but it’s just a bit to far away. Right mess, that was.

Ok, can the people that have listed their disgust at the prospect of peeing in the shower also claim to have never relaxed their bladder in a swimming pool?

I once got kicked out of a swimming pool for doing that.

“But everyone does it!” I protested.

“Yes sir,” I was told, “but not from the diving board.”

I’ll admit to the shower but stop at the pool. It’s not just the respect for others, it’s also the perceived risk of activating a super-sekret dye in the water and thus being exposed like some pervy-public-peeing squid-man-thing

Male and never done it. Always managed to control myself for the ~1.5m walk to the toilet

I pee in the shower and on the lawn. It gets washed straight down the drain and after quite a few years of this, our shower doesn’t smell as the plentiful warm water dilutes and washes it all away. Soap scum and hairs in the trap are far more disgusting, smelly and bacterial. It’s also good for the lawn. I also have a home urinal with aiming fly transfer in our downstairs loo, which is far more suitable for chaps to use than a WC pan, where lots of pee splashes and dries on the rim and surrounding floor. The only time we have had a smell of wee wee in our house was the last six months when we’ve had my incontinent MIL staying and we are gradually getting rid of everything that smells, including the carpet.

I certainly wouldn’t pee in a swimming pool though.

Why does anyone find it necessary?

Its not a necessity 😀 It’s just not necessary to get out of the shower to do it.

I’ve never peed in the shower, and I’ve not peed in a swimming pool since I was a very young child (I remember the rumour at school that pools had a chemical that turned water purple if you did a wee… and also, eewww). It’s not hard to hold it in until you’ve finished having a shower (and I say this as someone whose showers tend to last 15 minutes minimum).

I pole of my house reveals:
Me, male – Yes, basically every time I shower in truth.
Wife, female – Also yes, not always but often.

Personally I don’t see the problem.

Edit, re. swimming pools, generally no but I’d be lying if I said I’ve never done it.

I tell my 5 yr old son to pee in the shower as he usually seems to want to go at that point. Next job is showing him how to shave so got a few years.

People who object to peeing in the shower are letting socially learned convention (in this case, an a aversion to any sort of bodily fluid coz it’s ‘dirty’) get in the way of simple logic; FACT. 😛 (on the face of it, peeing in the shower is probably more hygienic than peeing standing up at the loo. It’s certainly a more effective flush; and the rim is higher too. 😆

My 4 year old does. So well in fact I’m now wondering why girls sit down to pee.

    this

my 2yr old daughter (no nappy time) hoisted up her dress and peed against a wall.

Not normally, no – that’s why we have toilets.

But I did receive a she-wee as a kind of ironic gift (yes, I have that sort of friends) when I was in hospital and it seemed the “safest” place to try and see if it works…

A colleagues daughter joined the army and peeing in the shower was a top tip as it killed all the fungi that gave you athletes foot….allegedly.

Oh and stamping a jobby down the plug!!! FFS!! At least do it on your hand and lob it in the pan.

A friend of mine once confessed to taking a dump in the shower, he had a wonderful phrase for getting rid of the evidence.
“You just have to toe it down”…

Why does anyone find it necessary? There’s usually a toilet in the same room? It’s pretty childish isn’t it!?

    eau contraire

it’s a sterile solution of water-soluble nitrogen rich metabolic products.

knowing that it’s perfectly harmless stuff is grown up, whereas superstitious fear of excretia is childish

Are you in the shower though?

FWIW, my wife used to be of the opinion that it was absolutely disgusting and used to berate me about it (personally I don’t see the problem)

Now that she’s pregnant and having to pee every 5 minutes, such reservations seem to have gone out the window…

Urinating the shower changes the classification of the waste water from grey to black. Whilst in the UK we generally don’t have separate systems for these system in the domestic setting they are put in place in some larger commercial establishments. Anyone serious about “saving water” would probably do well to install such a system and refrain from peeing in the shower.

Overall I’m going to maintain my not using the shower as a toilet regime.

There are two kinds of people in the world:
Those who pee in the shower.
    And liars.

A good few years ago we stopped at a small hotel in rural France and asked for a room with its own bathroom. When we got in there was just a tiny room with a shower and basin. I asked the owner where the bog was and he came up to the room, lifted the slatted wooden shower floor to reveal one of those old squatting trays that consisted of two porcelain foot rests and a stinky hole.

She can pee out of the window?

My sister and BIL had a flat in Newcastle and the bloke in the flat above kept peeing out of the window, which IS disgusting. My sis and BIL being both nurses, they cooked up a load of fake appintments, complete with letter and appointment cards, from a selection of hospital departments including urology and psychology and left them in the hallway for him.

He moved out a week later.

Why not? You’re in there for a few minutes, you need to have a little bit of a soak to clean yourself properly, and a rinse afterwards, why not take the opportunity to do a bit of multi tasking?

My daily routine is to brush my teeth under the shower as the water warms up. This gives me chance to have a quick soak whilst I brush. Naturally the toothpaste gets spat straight down the plug hole and is washed away. At this point I’m probably having a quick wee as well. Next I’ll scrub up with all sorts of bubbly smelly things and hey presto, me and the shower are both clean!

    It’s called efficiency.

    It’s not sterile.

it is until it gets to your urethra, and if there’s bacteria in there, then that’s your problem

Porn is so unrealistic – I’ve just spent 20mins stood in the corner of the shower freezing whilst handing her numerous bottles of shampoo and conditioner….

It’s not sterile, even inside the person producing it, but certainly not for any OTHER person who may come into contact with it.
