I joined a feeder ride over from Fife, there were about fifty of us. I went last year too and I think there were a few hundred metres of riders this year queuing around the Meadows for the off.

It was a joy to see so many kids riding, and indeed parents with children on child seats. We found ourselves among a group of recumbents coasting down the Royal Mile.

Top day, somehow we managed to dodge the rain too which was a bonus.

I’m seldom on the toon, so I was surprised to see the trams running.

    Any other STWers there?

Didn’t go but I bet it gave the bike counter on middle meadow walk a good boost!

I was there with Mrs Kenny. Brilliant seeing so many bike riders of all types, and a truly eclectic selection of bikes on display too. Hopefully some good will come of it. Loads of kids there and it would be lovely to think they will inherit a country where cycling is viewed as normal.

I was there. 1 year old in bike seat, 3 year old in trailer at the back. Wife coasting along on her roadie. Quite a sight to behold all those thousands of bikes. And an awesome feeling flying down the Royal Mile without taxis or buses to worry about. Great Day out.

I did. Probably biggest turn out yet. Glad they reverted to properly closing the road rather than the staggered groups of last year. What a joy to pootle down the Royal Mile unhindered, would be bliss if urban cycling was always like that [/hippy]
