Now I can vaguely remember an early 1980's TV show. It was 1981 or 82 I think.

A short 6 episode "coming of age" type thing about a group of friends, growing up in London.

I remember it as "Johnny Johnson" but google shows nothing of that name.

I'm sure the title was the lead characters name. Sure it had alliteration as well.

Can anyone help?

That's all too true.
I recorded some episodes of Chance in a Million from some obscure freeview channel as I remember them being really funny as a kid.
Turns out I was wrong. I had to delete them as they were too cringey.
