    I’ve coped with 1 bike since 1983, you’ll get over it 😉

Currently down to 2 (but have access to another) and it’s making my palms sweat.

I am probably the last person to ask 😳

    FWIW, I don’t think it’s possible.

No idea; it’s not something I’d ever be daft enough to try!

Ride a long travel full suspension everywhere

It will make you fitter 😉

You’ll live. I’ve spent the morning riding my 150mm full suss across the tamest bridleways that Surrey has to offer, trying to get the wife into mountain biking. It was surprisingly good fun. Like rolling along on a big, comfy armchair…

Spend a long time analysing what you ride and picking the right bike rather than just rushing into buying a flash bike

I’ve been down to one bike for ages. Its not a problem per se. The only question is…..

is it the right bike? Have you made the right choice?*

    * See Hora for at the ultimate example…

One-biked since 2011 – it’s fine, take heart from the fact that you’ll become completely in-tune with your bike – I always found going from one to another a bit jarring for a bit.

I’ve only ever had one at a time, I can only ride one each ride anyway.

hora is that the wrong way round and you’ve had 2002 mtb’s since you were one?

Are you only left with the spesh then Tony? Tourer gone?.

    Brilliant 😆
Its probably as accurate as the original

I think I could live with one MTB and one road/cross/touring type bike

One bike I am not even prepared to try such a thing.

down to 1 bike, how will I cope.

By spending less time posting on here and more time riding it and enjoying it?

I’ve had one MTB for around a year now, don’t see a problem with it to be honest

Bah. I used to lament that i wanted my big bike on the descents, and that i wanted my XC bike on the climbs. Cut it back as far as possible:

One mountain bike + one touring/pavement/town/commute bike.

I have a third, spare. But i never use it.

    Going to one bike. Why?

I know people have the thing about do it all bikes and emptying the garage but honestly, why? I’m not needing the money from selling surplus bikes to eat, it would only end up buying useless consumer items like shoes for the so I’m happy to live with a few bikes optimised for different things. Why this urge to just have one? I have several sets of clothes too.

( currently two bikes, looking at a third)

I like “do it all” bikes, but I’d still want several of them 😀

More bikes means having to earn more money to buy them. Being at work more probably means less riding….

We should.do a poll – how many bikes you own versus how many days a week riding you get in….

i have ridden to work all my working life, 34 years. never used the car, so a 1k here and there on a new bike is something i can do whenever i want and without any guilt.
seems to annoy some one here, cant understand why…… 😆

I want to put a smiley in here…

Not annoyed – genuine curiosity on number of bikes etc vs riding. I have more than one if you think I’m in the one bike camp…

edenvalleyboy, i ride every day, my holidays are cycle tours.

Ton- if you ride so often, how come just one bike then?

My survey of correlation between volumes of bikes vs days riding is probably pointless – too many variables. You could do the same survey for how many children one has versus how many days riding etc etc…

I have only had one bike at a time for the last 20 years. And the last twelve years have all been single speed (fixed and freewheel) road and off road.

    I’m a man of compromise…

I could easily manage with one bike. I’d keep the HT, & not have/need a FS or road bike. I ‘managed’ for years with just my trusty HT! (& different tyres)

Been on a steel, medium/long forked hardtail for about 6 months now….i have a full-suss in pieces ready to go when Shimano pull their finger out and release the mythical 11 speed XT groupset.
