Wow! £700+ for that Curta piece of delicious loveliness. So not only does it make lovely snick, snick, clicking noises but expensively engineered snick, snick, whirr. You”re a lucky man indeed Mr Howard. I could look at that all day long. Massively in awe and respect of the mind that invented that. I wonder if there’s a thread on here that lists beautifully engineered objects like that?

I got storage container draw set thingy, actually it’s bloody great for all my cycling crap thats accumulated and MrsBOuy is tidying all my stuff away too..
Couple of draws for windsurfing gear, rest for cycling gear..
How nice, sure I’ll not be able to find anything but thats kinda normal.

Other than that we want for nowt and need nowt so time together is all we honestly want/need.

Loving all your stuff, that calculators wasted when you’ve got access to Excel or a Smartphone or indeed a good old fashioned Casio.. Have fun with it I’m sure holding something solid in your hands is all you really wanted in the first place 😆

    Happy Holidays everyone..

A lovely Carradice bar bag in green and tan to match the saddlebag on the Fargo. Couple of books and the usual socks and undies.
    Happy Christmas.

…whilst in a concentration camp (Buchenwald). It literally saved Curt Herzstark’s (the inventors) life as the camp commandant heard about his idea, was rather taken with it and wanted to give one to Hitler after Germany had won the war (lolz)

I’m not making you want this any less am I?

Only bike related thing I got was a Hope DH jersey (the older Endura one as they were cheap). Got a hip flask as well which I am well chuffed with and it will probably be accompanying me on many rides in the future.

Acer Iconia 10″ tablet, refreshing(if that’s the right word),as we use a mix of i-pads/i-pad minis at work and I hate the slow keypads!. Acer is well wicked! :-). Oh,and I proposed* and she said yes!. So will not be stopping at every jeweller’s window as she is wearing the equivalent of a full suss frame on her hand!!. 😀 *early doors Christmas Day. I count “I suppose so…”,as a yes, poor thing has been waiting 7 years…, she said *yes moments later.

I got a new set of Maxxis crossmark tyres, and a large framed photo taken near Macclesfield forest from Mr Pea.
Also got some odd choices in clothing from my mum and sister- anyone would think they hadn’t known me for 46 years!

Loads of great stuff, including Monty Python T shirt, cds, Gautier perfume…

Unfortunately, I didn’t get any eye bleach. Although to be fair, I didn’t realise I needed any until I opened this thread……

    😉

I’ve bought them for other people but not for myself. Hopefully it will be as useful as you say!

@molgrips – you asked for a jersey, we only needed to see a photo of a jersey 😯

A few nice items including some coloured glass plates as used in the Ottolenghi resturants.

We had those Curta calcs at school in the early 60s. God knows where they are now. The originals are worth a fortune. I’m sure they didn’t all get tossed when the school was closed.

Oh, and I’m sad enough to have a collection of slide rules including circular and spiral. Plus loads if specialist claculator discs/ wheels.
