    He’s going full Trump, somewhat unsurprisingly

    I bet they’re absolutely bricking it in number ten. He’s going to be properly outside the tent, pissing in

    Rishi’s now got two by-elections to lose 😂

    I do sort of agree with this statement from him
    ““They know perfectly well that when I spoke in the Commons I was saying what I believed sincerely to be true and what I had been briefed to say, like any other minister.”

    Since I do tend towards the view that for him the truth is whatever serves him at that moment in time.
    Although the “briefed to say”. FFS hasnt he heard the phrase “the buck stops here”. I guess for him he substitutes the “b” for an “f” inbetween ranting about feckless single mothers.

    Dissonance – he knew perfectly well he has been lying over the parties and so on.

    Trouble is he is a psychopath and like Trump cannot admit when he has done wrong

    I am not sure. I have met some people who seem similar for whom the truth really did seem to be whatever suited them at that moment in time. I am sure if we had a working lie detector system they would pass it with flying colours.
    To be clear its not meant as a defence of him since after all if someone knowingly lies they can possibly be taught its a bad idea but when someone simply has no comprehension of it they cant.

    Echoing back to Binners the other day. Let us not forget that he oversaw decisions that resulted in the death of thousands during COVID, and didn’t have the wherewithal to understand his own rules or care to follow them

    Good riddance to the feckless graceless twunt

    Boris to join {insert Farage’s latest party name here} and stand in Mad Nad’s ex-constituency? 😆

    I think he does. He (and others such as MadNad, The PM formally known as lettuce, Trump etc) all think they are ‘right’.

    Sincere ? Yeah right.  He’s even less sincere than Huwie Green’s ” I mean that totally incerecerely folks”

    “And so ends the political career of a person who has done more damage, to British politics, to British institutions, to the UK, than anyone I could have ever possibly imagined. His upset and bewilderment are nowhere close to ours”

    Hopefully. The arsehole is almost certainly dreaming of the time when as an anti-Arthur in the countries time of need (which he has helped create) he will return to finish the job he started.

    As usual, he’s entirely blameless and it’s everyone else that’s the problem

    Rumours are that a few of his other stalwart supporters/useful idiots are about to follow the muppet til the end and resign too

    Well it’s not like they’ve much hope of holding on to their seats at a general election, so they might as well

    This is no where near enough punishment and humiliation for Boris. His lifestyle will be little changed. He still hasn’t accepted that what he did was wrong,  I don’t know if he ever will. He still thinks he’s a “great man” being wrongly dragged down by the worthless insignificant people.

    I wouldn’t spit on him if he was on fire.

    If I was a “stalwart supporters/useful idiots” of Johnson and hence lacking ethics and morals I can see handing in my notice effective next parliament and so having another 15 months or so of salary whilst being able to take on a new job rather appealing vs resigning today.
    Why give up that cash?

    Go on now, go. Walk out the door
    Just turn around now ’cause you’re not welcome anymore
    Weren’t you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye?
    Did you think I’d crumble?
    Did you think I’d lay down and die?

    his statement says he is leaving “for now”

    for some reason normally rationale and sane people rate him and are still defending him.

    I doubt he is gone for good.  I hope he is

    Whilst they seem to have quite a lot of cash to throw around I doubt they have enough for him outside of a one off or two.
    Maybe in a few years time but sadly I reckon they still wont be able to meet how much he will be getting paid for screwing us all.

    The honours system is a sham. For every deserving recipient there must be at least five awarded for cronyism.

    @klunk not sure why a tweet by the most ultra hardcore conservative since Thatcher should be lorded as amusing.

    bit like Hitler being amused by the execution of Mussolini

    Been completely off the grid since 11am – jeez, what a day to be disconnected!
    For many reasons it’s been an almost perfect day – the only downside has been the disgraceful resignation ‘honours’ list.
    I can’t imagine many circumstances when criminal charges against a US president barely get a mention in the news coverage.
    Tory implosion incoming!
    Shit will be sprayed everywhere – but mainly over tories!
    Does this mean the privileges committee enquiry dies as johnson has resigned wef?
    I’ll continue sticking pins in the tory voodoo doll.

    If (Eton College version)

    If you can keep your job when all around you
    Lies ravaged from what it is you’ve done;
    If intellect and common sense confound you
    And if integrity you have but none;
    If you can lie and not be tired by lying,
    And pretend you act for the public good,
    But then leave the people to their dying
    And say you did, sadly, all you could:

    If you can dream – of nothing more than power;
    If you can think – but only of yourself;
    If you believe this country’s finest hour
    Is when the chosen few can gain more wealth;
    If you can flout the law with bluff and bluster
    And not care whether you are believed,
    Or deny with scorn every single blunder
    And not care how many you may deceive:

    If you can stir up hatred, fear and violence
    To create division to suit your ends;
    And answer cries for help with silence,
    And then laugh about it with your friends:
    If you can stretch this country to its limit
    Or until it is you’ve had your fun,
    Yours is this land and everything that’s in it,
    And – as you wished – you’ll be PM, Johnson.

    They have pretty much finished.
    He had been given it this week and had a couple of weeks to respond and argue against it before it was formally published.
    I assume it will get published although there would be no point in the commons voting on whether to carry out the suggested sanction.

    Great to see the utter headbangers of the ERG claiming this is an anti-Boris, anti-Brexit ‘remainer elite’ coup 😂

    The privileges committee has a Tory majority who are all Brexiteers

    They really are utterly insane! They really don’t do self-awareness, do they?
