My carbon Thomson bars, just look so lush. Which is a MASSIVELY sad thing to say. It’s just a frickin’ handlebar.

Niterider Lumina 750 light (I’ve had it only a week but it has already proved awesome!) and Rema TipTop tube patches.

For me there are a couple or three:
    – full suss 29ers
    – single ring
    – Chinese carbon rims

    1 x 10 with clutch and N/W ring

    +1

Edit: I did that back when 10 speed first came out..

For ’14 I’ll go for Stooge frame & fork

    Chinese carbon rims
Zee rear mech- farewell constantly loosening SRAM clutch
And my superstar narrow wide ring (lots better than the raceface n/w it replaced)
Oh and my 29er Kona unit 🙂

+1 for superstar narrow wide ring plus the simplicity of 1 x 9 on my XC bike

Refinishing the big bike- barely performance enhancing (it saved a bit of weight I suppose) but it helped give it a new lease of life, and put off the replacement itch.

Suppose otherwise it’s the carbon rims but they’re not that exciting, they’re just rims really.

Big disappointment was the Pikes- I suppose they’re decent enough but just about every time I ride them, I’m tempted to fit a set of Lyriks instead

Another vote for coaching course. In fact I did two, an MTB day with Jedi, and a BMX course with a local coach from Gloucester. Both have increased my riding enjoyment (and ability) far more than any bike or accessory

tough one, i think it will have to be my mtr bibshorts.

The narrow wide thing, I like it, it’s aesthetically nicer, but really not much of a revelation compared to running 1×10 with a top guide.

Favourite new bike item of 2014, I’d say my Castelli Gabba short sleeve jersey. Pretty much the only jersey I wore on the road during spring and autumn. Nice aero race fit. Versatile with a set of arm warmers and a mix of base layers. And stands up ok to a shower or two. Bit cold for it now though.

It’s a toss up between my On One Knuckleballs in Chewy and Nuun tablets. Think I’m going to have to give it to the fancy water though.

@Kimbers- in what respect were the RaceFace N/W ring not as good as the superstar one?

    Thomson dropper, easy.

The teeth on the superstar are deeper and it just seems to hold the chain better especially as the rf one seemed to wear much quicker

    Surly Jethro Tule. It’s lovely.

    And it opens bottles.

Wolftooth narrow wide and 40t One Up cog
    Or
Superstar quick link pliers, they make what should be a simple job, that used to result in skinned knuckles and swear words, simple again
    Or
The small amount of bubble wrap stuffed down the down tube that has cured the really annoying rattly internal cables on my Commencal Meta
But technically I didn’t buy that, it was packaging for some other bike product I bought

Endura BaaBaa thermals, merino wool, it’s incredible, love it, base layers and skull caps, keep you riding when all are heading for the turbo trainers.

Hope lights, so far reliable and so much fun riding at night.

ESI grips, comfortable and grippy, and available in loads of colours.

I’d say the narrow wide ring and clutch mech and the proper light carbon 29’er HT they’re bolted to
