Critical thinking should be incorporated in to the National Curriculum. Especially with sheer weight of absolute shite available on the Internet.
Subscribing to absurd conspiracy theories, believing in religion, not ‘believing’ in evolution, alkaline diets, homeopathy or miracle cancer cures could all be neutralised by an ability to assess quality/weight/source of evidence.
A common theme with these people seems to be they have a narrative and seek ‘evidence’ to reinforce that narrative and no amount of real evidence can dissuade them. The irony is they call themselves sceptics but they’re the opposite of sceptical.
