Or is it just me? Got my first pair of arm warmers arriving in the morning for "those chilly autumn morning commutes"... 😕

I'm strangely looking forward to the morning post.

PS - I once rode with Jedi, The Tony Doyle

I can't really say yes, as that would imply I ever wear anything else (well I suppose I do own some baggy shorts and 3/4s for use when taking mini-aracer to the playground so I don't look like a perv).

Arm warmers, knee warmers and leg warmers are brilliant - couldn't manage without them.

The darkside will need to work on their seduction technique for me 😉

Armwarmers rule, so do knee warmers.
Under-the-helmet caps are ace.

that's cycling clothing sorted.

Darkside clothing however....

No, not me. Whatever the weather I'll always be out there in my ridiculous baggy shorts covered in pockets and a 400L camelback complete with tent and inflatable dinghy "just in case" there is a major incident at the trail centre.

Yep bought some super comfy castelli bib shorts. only thing that annoys is the need to be 'trimmed' to not look like a wierdo - thin fabrique

More to the point, why does the vast majority of clothing appropriate for mountainbiking look so bad? why all the zips and key fobs, nasty prints, pointless pockets and early 90's t-shirts design? Is it so ****ing expensive to make something SIMPLE?

I'm talking to you Altura and Endura.

I only ever wear my [s]roadie[/s] cycling gear, designed to do the job and it does it well.

I bloody love lycra. Baggies are too much faff IMO, especially when combined with the abrasive winter grit. Get some thermals underneath your normal bibs and you're sorted.

Getting myself some lovely 3/4 bib tights today.....look luverly. Agreed Dr Doolitle, Sombrio another huge offender. All this Pepsi-max, skater dude stuff gets right on my t1ts. Rapha have the right idea but laughable pricing.

loud last-season's (ie cheaper) roadie bib shorts as undershorts, oh yes. Especially when you wear them under downhill shorts with body armour and a full face helm.

I have a couple of bib tights, 2 thicknesses of legwarmers and we have matching dad'n'daughter campagnolo roadie caps in red and barbie pink. And a few roadieish tops I suppose.

On the other hand I don't like fingerless mitts, baggies seem better for falling off in (i think its something about having 2 layers of shorts sliding over each other a bit when you slide to an ungentlemanly halt on your side...) and I don't really spend enough time sat in the saddle to feel justified in spending £150 on posh bibshorts.

rapha stuff is fantastic but stupidly priced - I try and get to their sales where things are sold at something approaching affordable prices...

Rapha don't stoop to have sales. Like a lot of people I kind of could afford to buy their stuff and I am a bit of a label queen when it come to clothes but out of principle I'm not giving anyone £160 for a pair of 3/4 bib-tights.

Roadie clothing is great! For me I find it a better fit & far more comfortable, but then I am a roadie.

Still, even on my mtb I prefer some of my roadie kit. Baggy shorts, jerseys etc.. whats the point? It don't work as well imo. Fashion led nonsense 😉

And yes, arm & knee warmers are the greatest thing ever!

No, they seem to have 'clearances' and 'sample sales'.

Personally I'd rather give them the £160 than pay that for a pair of jeans, although I wouldn't buy base layers or tights from them.

I dont get leg and arm warmers.
I find if it is cold I wear long sleeved tops and full length trousers.

In winter. off the bike, do you wear leg warmers with shorts and arm warmers with t-shirts or long trousers and a jumper?

Roadie stuff is generally more comfortable though I dont mind my baggoes too much but would not wear my MTB stuff on road bike but would wear my roadie stuff on MTB.

When youre armwarmers arrive, you have to wear them around the house singing Goldfinger in a Shirley Bassey stylee.
We've all done it.

But sometimes it starts cold and you warm up needing to shed a layer, but not needing to take off a jacket. I guess indoors there isn't such a temp change so no need for flexibility. I suppose you do put a coat on when you go outside though... 😉
