I’ve recently knocked two rooms together to form a much larger living room, its approximately 7m x 7m with standard 8ft ceiling height. currently theres to circuits of ceiling downlight and a ceiling pendant on a separate circuit all terminating a single back box. so 3 switches in total. The spots are almost never used (we’re not big light people – we use lamps) but as I need to do some reconfiguring, I’m considering using one or more of the ceiling circuits to run track lights to gently light bookcases and paintings alongside lamps but not to brightly light the room

thing is, my searches just take me to suppliers like lights.co.uk etc who will sell me anything but their websites are not particularly helpful at explaining how they can be used in any way other than peppering the ceiling with dozens of them

so – im looking for a tasteful and unobtrusive way to give a warm glow to books and art in a way thats flexible. show me what you’ve got!

FWIW lamps are all controlled by HomeAssistant and I’ll probably do the same with ceiling lights, but thats a side topic!

I looked at track lighting but just bought a load of anglepoise wall lights and pendant lights on their outlet store, 70% off swung it for me. I already have their floor lamps so matched them up with similar, 1227 in black. Its a 30 day return window in case they look awful. Have a look at well-lit lighting it came a close second.
