If money was no object and I was looking for a do-it-all, go-anywhere bike, I’d be getting one of these[/url]

Beautiful but what’s with the tiny head tube. It’s 2015 FFS.

Do test ride a Diverge, at least as a baseline to compare with everything else. I’ve never ridden anything quite so seductive…

I use it to form a loop to Aberdour and back along the coastal path.

I’ll need to keep an eye on Gumtree for a used petrol strimmer, but I’ll let you know if I do, cheers.

I started taking in the Cullaloe singletrack down onto the Mill Farm road as an alternative, it’s fun too.

    looking for a do-it-all, go-anywhere bike,

it would have mudguard and rack mounting options. 🙂

That chainstay’s a bit of a minger, too!

How’s the rack mounting going on the carbon Diverge, Captain ? I’m stumped…

Haven’t fitted any myself as I don’t need them, but it has lowrider mounts on the front, and eyelets on the back. Would need a seatpost upper clamp, but that’s easily doable.

Cloudnine, the look a little bit like 3T Aeronovas.

Merida Cyclo Cross 300 for £456?
Surely a bargain and I think it’s pretty

whereisthurso – that sounds like a bargain if that price is correct. I have the 105 CAAD X and am really pleased with it.

    That Open looks awesome!

I’m having similar deliberations around my new bike.

As well as the OP’s list I have the Verenti Substance 105 (750quid on Wiggle) and the Kona Jake on my list too.

I’ve ordered one of these from Hargroves as the extra 10% off brought it down from £1150 to £719. Will probably sell off most stuff apart from frame, forks, wheels & brakes and swap on the stuff from my current CX.

Apparantly they have just shipped it 🙂

Roger_mellie, I might be too late but over black Friday weekend sigma sport were doing 125 off on a 750 spend. I got the caad x tiagra some bar tape and pedals for 625. Best bargain since the cannondale trigger that I bought last month. Time to stop spending now

    Hi.

The Awol doesn’t look like it will fit big rubber. I’ve done a tubeless conversion on the Giant revolt and put on 1.9 inch specialized tubeless 29er racing tires which makes it so much more capable, and changed the bars for something similar to a Jones since the front end is much lower than the AWOL. Tiagra thumb shifters and flatbar levers and an xt 2 speed crankset changed the affordable revolt to a nice light and capable rigid 29er adventure bike more capable thanks to the shorter cockpit, tires and gearing.
Dunno why they sell these bikes with such hard gearing and skinny tires. Singletrack is so fun with a mtb tire and shorter cockpit, especially when loaded

Left field option, flat bar version of the Sonder El Camino is £749, the drop bar one is £799

The AWOL can take a 2″ tyre apparently, though I’ve never tried.

This thread is a year old BTW.
