Not sure if it classes as remote if you can see it from the M6, but Great Dunn Fell radar station in a blizzard isn’t particularly comfortable.

Bolts Law. Rideable from home, but bleak as a bleak place (on a bad day)

Ewan and k-brembo’s shots are great.

Round the back of Carn an t’Sagairt Mor – I saw eight hares, thirty deer and no people for the first 13 miles.

Not as remote as some people are posting, but there you go, you take your adventure where you find it I guess.

Next bit of land is ~170km south of that bit of old coastal defense ^

near the top of Pico de la Neves, Gran Canaria, on an dormant/extinct volcano. going down the “wrong” side…. ~2000m up. riding a thick layer of lava stones is a lot like riding on snow.

My bivy spot at sunrise on the summit of A Mhaighdean in Fisherfield a few weeks ago 🙂
Said to be the most remote Munro as well as the best wild campping spot in the UK (how is that measured???)
I though I should test the truth in those statements, I’d tend to agree. Perfect weather, no midgies. Stunningly good couple of days out.

Half way up Mt Dunblane in New Zealand. Sorry for the fat scottish bloke ruining the scenery.

A mate just cresting a wee climb into Glen Ample, in the Trossachs. Not even slightly remote, but some lovely countryside.

Riding through a wadi as we skirted around the edges of the Sahara desert certainly felt remote to me!

Again this isn’t really remote, it’s just down from Rothiemurchus lodge, but I like to show the photo off now and again because I really like it!

Could be anywhere!….but it’s actually just King’s park in Stirling 🙂

Sorry, it’s the fat Scotsman again, but this time in a famous climbing location in Nevada…Red Rock Canyon? All I remember is that there were Chipmunks everywhere. 😯

Start of a mahoosive descent back down towards Pitlochry at the end of an awesome day in high moorlands.

A very good friend patiently waiting with good humour as I beat my bike back into shape with a rock. It wasn’t very remote at the summit of the Glen Finglas loop, but it suddenly felt like it when my bike got all stroppy!

Thanks for this thread! I’ve been more off than on my bike the last couple of because of bad injuries. This little sift through photo bucket has brought back a whole bunch of really good memories. Must have a look through the stuff stored on my camera and my computer at home now! 🙂

The latter I descended alone, northwards, in the last of the daylight. One of the most amazing trails ever; hard though.

    Near Orasaigh, South Uist

(Okay, it’s not me and my bike, but it’s two friends and their bikes, and I’d ridden with them then run up to the top of Orasaigh itself to get the pic!)

Not me, but my bike, and my eldest son in Harris, at the foot of the big hills at the top of the island.

I think it qualifies as remote, certainly feels that way once you get to the first pass.

🙂 I have been in that bay, sailing, but can’t quite place it, it does look very much like west side of Jura/Colonsay/Oronsay so I’ll wait and see what others reckon !

    Another Iceland shot:

We had just seen our first car for two hours as we turned on to this track and wouldn’t see anyone else for another three when we got back to tarmac. We’d no idea if this track actually existed or was even rideable, turned out to be lots of “wow! Look at that!”
