I got two messages from them, thankfully found a button which ignores all messages from them. Glad to know they’re banned.

Hmmm not so helpful if you are trying to flog stuff on the classifieds though!!

I guess most people have never had the pleasure of gumtree or ebay!!!

Oh and if it’s a gift for their son who is an intern at the UN/UNIT/Babylon 5/Starfleet but will pay in full hit delete too!!

My dad posted his car on Gumtree yesterday and within an hour had an enquiry from someone who wanted to buy it without seeing it, could only pay using paypal, had to use an different email address because their corporate server was down, was sending a friend to pick it up……

I got excited when I saw I finally had some response to a classified…then realised it was a scam!

Also point to note if someone comments on your classified item you don’t get a notification. So basically have no idea if they are interested until you stumble across it a week or so later.

Buyers can comment on the Ad.

That I never knew. I’ll highlight this now.

I’m sure most people would check their advert more than once a week.

Why would you if you didn’t know it was there? Furthermore the comments are below the ad content. So unless you scroll all the way to the bottom of the ad you won’t see them.

I only stumbled across a comment 4 days after it was left, no notficiation email or PM. I’d be pissed if I had of paid for an ad!

In fact I checked an ad again and low and behold another comment no notification so they are definitely not switched on to notify you.

notification so they are definitely not switched on to notify you.

Does that mean there is a way to turn them off? Got so many from the main forum it’s just a nice blob or red on the top bar now!

Would be really useful if you could say “only posters with X number of posts” so that you can only get messages from Big Hitters people who’ve used the forum

Agreed not sure why there cant be a minimum post caveat. It would eliminate the Karina problem, although Ive embarked on a rather promising romantic correspondance with her. Its my intention to give her the password to my online bank details because she’s assured me of a happy ending after a back massage when she arrives from Dubai.

To save possible future dissapointment, just make sure she knows what to do with a courgette Merak

Well according to Urban Dictionary Karima is:

“A kind hearted girl who wears her heart on her sleeve. Her name means generous and she is just that. Her love and loyalty knows no boundaries. She is clever and strong headed. She knows what she wants and she knows how to get it using her charm. Her looks are killer and her smile melts the hardest of hearts.
    You’re as loveable as Karima”

But then they also say that “People Born Before 1985 with no life insurance are in for a big surprise”, so what do they know.
