Afternoon all.
Any recommendations?
As an advertiser, I always choose Hi-Fi+ to reach a high end audience, and then Hi-Fi News to reach a wider audience.
Don't bother with What Hi-Fi any more.
Used to be HiFi News & Record Reviews, but I don’t know if it’s still going. I used to buy it for their album reviews, which, unlike NME, didn’t reflect the often biased view of the journo writing it. Their equipment reviews were very good as well, quite technical.
Once Q came out, then The Word and Uncut, I turned to them for music reviews.
I really like What Hifi for the speaker cable reviews.
Does anyone remember a uk hi-fi mag from the early 1990’s I think, it had minimal advertising and I think concentrated on affordable gear so you could spend more money on records? It was only around for a couple of years I think but it was full of (what I considered) to be sound advice.
"Sound Advice"
What you did there. I saw it.
What, What HI FI mag.
Hi-fi World is the one I used to read and I built one of their loudspeaker kits - they are great but the loft at the moment due to the usual space problems
Gramophone. And HNRR
I’ve stopped buying magazines, just read pinkfishmedia it’s like this forum minus the big hitter want wittery
What hi-fi isn’t a hi-if magazine.
I quite liked HiFi+ back in the day but not bought a mag in years and just look at/watch the podcasts on Darko and browse stereophile for wacky ultra high end audio pron.
