I only caught the last 10km of the men's race. Great sprint finish.

Spoiler

I bet Kwiatkowski is rueing going too early. He had Gilbert beaten for a few yards.

Watched it with someone who doesn't really follow racing, immediately called it exactly from the minute Kwia got to the front group to how it would finish and was still gutted for him.

Massive tactical screw up from kwiatkowski. Not sure what made him think going that far out into a headwind was a good idea.

Great race though, approve of organisers course change.

Not a huge surprise that the guys that took a few weeks off to freshen up had the upper hand over the guys that did Roubaix.

Ouchie!

http://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/racing/philippe-gilbert-remaining-ardennes-classics-injuries-sustained-amstel-gold-race-325528

Gilippe Philbert out for the rest of the classics with a torn kidney.

One comment in there, "the team director Wilfried Peeters said that Philippe even lost consciousness and fortunately, he came back strong.” - need a new meme instead of the cyclists vs footballers, now cyclists vs rugbyists, boxers.....

[actually, that worries me - suspect may be exaggeration on the part of Peeters but there must be substantial potential for concussion type injuries in a mass pile up at 45kph, is there a cycling protocol other than MTFU (or W) ]

Kwiatkowski had to go early, Gilbert has the better sprint so had to try something different. But Gilbert was nearly caught out, he took his eye of the ball momentarily
