If petrichor is the smell of rain, what's the smell of spring called. I could definitely smell it this morning, but was unable to name it.

In Canada, it would be ‘thawing dogshit’

a common phenomenon, caused by a whole winter’s worth of dogshit in the back garden, previously melted into the snow, all thawing at the same time.

this is from a friend who lives in Canada.

I was going to say manure also 😂

But it really is, coming from West coast Scotland as a kid it didn't seem as prevalent, so I only noticed it when visiting the east coast or going on holidays (similar to the smell of the breweries in Edinburgh).

Seems therefore that the smell of pig shit only evokes positive feels for me 😎

Cut grass for me too, but only when accompanied by the sound of a single cylinder petrol mower.

Not dissimilar to any cycle path near to a free car park in the days following the first warm days of spring in the UK then?

Manure - usually Easter weekend - the Farmers in Wales time it perfectly for all the holiday makers to arrive. Nope, they don't do it on other weekends, just those long bank holiday weekends, especially for tourists.

It was manure for me last spring - both sides of the Lancaster Canal, I’ve just remembered after trying to block the trauma out!
