Booked fights to Valencia for the start the summer holidays. Been to Denia and Javea years ago and they were quite nice. any other recommendations for place to base ourselves at? Brief is a family beach holiday (kids aged 10 &12), probably rent a villa or apartment with pool, not wanting to be in somewhere too Brits abroad, decent beaches. Any other things worth seeing or doing??
Someone mentioned Moraira as being nice.

Valencia itself has nice beaches, then you can wander through the City of Arts and Sciences naming all the movies and adverts you’ve seen it in on your way into town.

Excellent city. We hired some Dutch style bikes ,booked on a guided cycle tour,then did our own thing for the rest of the week. Stayed in a place in Russafa that had bike storage,it was spot on. Great place to walk around ,only mistake was thinking it was a good idea to cycle out to the big lagoon (El Palmar),should have got the bus* instead.
* the bus service is very good .

It’s a lovely city. Went with my son there last June as a finishing Uni treat. He has a long time  female ‘penpal’ he wanted to meet in person who lives there. We spent the days enjoying the city and in the evenings he met up with his friend. I sat on our balcony reading Elvis Costellos autobiography and watching the fireworks. There seemed to be a lot of fireworks that week. There was a big festival on.
Liked the place so much the Mrs and I are going again this July. Same hotel!Â
