(worth "retweeting" IMO, but doesn't really sound like "scum" to me)

Pig face - I don't care what your reason. I wouldn't call any team from another nation scum. Or posh *****s.

I'm well over myself, it just seems it's ok to post with a racist edge, as long as it's against the English.

No, I don't like it when it comes from any angle. Some of the Welsh name calling was rude (prob not intentional, but that ain't the point).

Let's stick to the rugby - plenty to talk about!!

This thread has got so whiney over the last couple of pages ๐Ÿ™

As someone else has said, let focus on the great rugby in store this weekend!

I really enjoyed the Leinster game yesterday-hard to see a none French team lifting the trophy though, and I can't see an English team in the final which is a shame given where the final is being played.

Callum Clark should never play again. No place for him in the sport.

The RFU should have dealt with this - 6 months is a joke!

Do that on the street and you'd be banged up.

That was a shitty thing to do. Did he "intentionally break his arm"?? Not sure about that. He was given a 6 month ban. The game is littered with biters/gouges/spear tacklers/violent offenders. Doesn't excuse calling a whole club scum, IMHO.

Rugby is a violent sport played right on the edge - see the discussions over the Lawes challenge v France. Every game sees things you can't do in the pub on a Friday. When you step the wrong side of the line it looks terrible.

I haven't trawled back through the thread, but wasn't there some objection to choice of language against the other home nations a few weeks back? Justifiably so, IIRC.

To answer your first question, Yes he did.

In your opinion it is not good to call a club scum, in my opinion it it is. I can respect that.

Good win for the Dragons yesterday as well.

Rugby wise, I thought Bath were the best bet for an AP side win. Sarries have been on good form recently, so they are in with a chance. I like the way Wasps play, but I think Toulon will steamroller them. Clermont were on fire yesterday.

I think the English clubs will struggle in Europe for a while - there are too many clubs to dilute the talent, and the French teams get around that by spending a fortune on the best talent.

You would think all that talent would translate to the national side. Which positions are they lacking in?

Pig face - is the whole of NZ rugby scum, as they declared no case to answer for the Nonu spear tackle on BOD on the lions tour? If I had the time/will I could probably find a similar case against any team on the planet.

The European challenge cup often throws up better games than the Heineken.

Does it? I've never really had to watch it tbh. ๐Ÿ™‚

Saracens would have been my one away bet for the weekend as well. Seem to be doing ok so far. Still can't quite believe the schooling that Saints got yesterday. Haven't seen such a one-sided quarter final in a while.

You don't say. ๐Ÿ˜€

Even a recent years Munster have given them a few games there...just didn't expect the English champions to get such a hammering, that's all.

Well there's a turn up. Pretty poor game tbh, but fair dues to Saracens for upsetting the odds.

The English teams will struggle for a while unless the format of the AP changes. If you distilled the top premiership players into 3/4 teams then it would be interesting.

dd,
Leinster beat them in an "away" Semi in Bordeax in 2012.
15 - 19
It's not the same as playing them in the Michelin

Dreadful idea. Even if the AP teams aren't the best in europe (and they aren't), it doesn't detract from what is a fantastic domestic league. The top teams are french by a long chalk, and they are so loaded with foreign players it's a bit of a joke.

Would still fancy Clermont for the final though.

One to go, would prefer Wasps next,
but if it's got to be Toulon then Clermont then that's a Cup worth winning.

Wrecker I agree. The AP is a great league in its own right. Sadly the current setup of other leagues makes it very hard for the AP to compete.

That's bollox.

1 Irish
1 French
1 English

in the semis. with chance of 1 more English or French.
That's competing.

AP is a good league though, agree with that. It just works well as it is at the mo' and makes for a good season

We can't complain really, it is what it is. The euro cup is still a good spectacle, and the AP got 4 teams into the quarters (more than any other league). The simple fact is that the AP teams are not good enough to compete with the french, and I reckon no nations domestic clubs are.

loum,
I'm not sure current Sarries are up to a 2012 Leinster standard.

That's true
But not sure the current Leinster are up to the 2012 standards. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ
Still, with that pack they've an outside chance.
And if they somehow lose Goperth before the match...

Yeah, nowhere near IMO. That side would have destroyed Bath yesterday. Don't know much about Gopperth tbh.

He's got the game management and kicking from hand of George Ford.
But without the passing, running, tries or assists.
And he get's worse under pressure.

And O'Connor loves him for some reason and won't play Madigan at 10 anymore.

Yesterday, it was Gopperth, Madigan, Ben "O"Te'o, Fitzgerald at 10,12,13,11

Don't think you'd find a Leinster fan who wouldn't prefer another wing on the end with them 3 all stepping in one place and no Gopperth.
That backline playing outside the current pack, basically 2012 with more experience but minus Brad Thorn, and the're back to looking like a decent Leinster.
Obviouslly it's not Sexton, D'Arcy, BOD, Nacewa - but it's closer to how it should be.

Still, a semi's no disaster for a "transition" year, and when Johnny comes back and Henshaw makes the move... ๐Ÿ˜‰

AA - I'm referring to :

a) Pro12 distils the best domestic players into 4(Ir/Wa) or 2(Sc) teams.
b) lack of a realistic salary cap in top14 pulls the best global players.

Plays against the AP teams. Maybe the balance is just about right with the home nations, but I don't think the financial clout of the French league is healthy. Makes for some good watching when clerking play like yesterday though!

Took the dog out for the second half of Toulon v Wasps. Sounds like I've missed the better half.
