I have been sitting here working since 9am without a cuppa. what are the odds of DHL arriving to deliver a v important parcel when i dash to the shop (2 mins total) for a pint of milk and packet of digestives? driver left birmingham at 8.15am. I'm near stafford. parcel is 4kg. Its urgently required, but so is a mug of tea and a sit down with a handful of biscuits. what is crucial cut off time for just sodding it and making a dash for the shop?

he's sat round the corner waiting for you to go out.

there's already a 'while you were out' card on your doormat so you're fine to go any time.

There's no risk...

He's already forged your signature and made of with the nicely weighty parcel.

I imagine he'll be very disappointed to find some parts for a pedal bike when he opens it.

If it's 100% that DHL are coming, and let's say they will arrive before 5pm, then the chance of them coming in any 2 minute period is going up as you get closer to 5pm, so go now!
(but don't blame me if you miss them.)

i might scope out the road a bit. shop is straight line of sight from the driveway. i could make a dash in the car.

its not bike bits, much more important than that. bugger

Long gone; he'd made it all the way to the south coast by 12.00 🙂

So you're wasting our time with a completely fictional scenario?

Don't be timid - raise the stakes...

...by going for a crap.

Works every time for me.

i risked the crap, then he turned up, i explained my milk agony, he said he'd have left the package in the porch anyway! £1500 worth of 'stuff' which needed a signature....
