I saw texas at the barrowlands many moons ago on 23 dec 19??. It was some sort of glasgow homecoming / xmas bash supported by gun, but some of del amitri appeared on stage too. Superb night, texas used to turn up in fat sams in dundee quite regularly too way back...
Has anyone mentioned Primal Scram? Did they start in the 80's or am I in the wrong decade?
No one mentioned KLF??
are Marillion and KLF really classified as scottish?
the Fratellis - proper scottish name there 😉
would it be wrong to say that they moved to a new level when Donnie jacked and Bruce came on board
no it wouldn't, would completely agree iainc.
Have been a huge fan since first hearing Hearthammer when it was released as a single from The Big Wheel. They are massively better live with Bruce than with Donnie.
Rob
The Nyah Ferties 'Barassie beach' all time classic track, they were a bit local, Ayrshire based I think.
Much better than Deacon Blue, they were a load of pish, dignity my ass!

are Marillion and KLF really classified as scottish?
Marillion weren't Scottish, they just had a Scottish singer, same with Ultravox. Neither had a 'Scottish' sound either!
Fish (ex Marillion) is still gigging.
Mike Scott is from Ayr. Went to Edinburgh Uni for a bit.
Friends Again were great too, and anyone remember The Painted Word?
Urusei Yatsura.
