I like him as a (former) rugby player. Don't know him personally.

I used to despise both Carling and Brian Moore. (Secretly it was because they were good players on the oppo team! 🙄 )

Moore has grown on me over the years. I'd be happy to listen to his commentary on most games. Carling hasn't.

Every time Shane scores a try he has a smug grin a mile wide and looks pretty pleased with himself. In fact almost anyone who is at the top of their game will look smug to the losers. Funny thing is I still like him.

I hate Shane. He's my 357th favourite player at the tournament.

That Will Carling moment from the Middlesex 7's is a classic. I saw him ridng a bike a few months ago, looks like a sack of shit in the saddle but he was doing alright on a very nice road bike.

Right, predictions for the morrow?

England to win easily
France to edge it. NZ to blame the ref, the ball, the crowd, well just about anyone but themselves!

France to edge it.

Would be nice, but I think it's a bit too early in the tournament for NZ to choke.

Great comment on the advert for sport Wales a few minutes ago...

The jungle drums in New Zealand indicate Wales will be making changes for their next game... I'd like to see Leigh Halfpenny picked at 15... I wouldn't trust Lee Burn with a kettle at the moment

😀

My predictions were, England by 15+ points (I reckon by 30ish), but another dull performance that has Johnson frowning (does he ever not frown?)
New Zealand by 15+ points (I reckon 25ish). They will take no Frenchie prisoners this time around.

Samoa <14 points over Fiji, but a great fun game (for viewers!)

Ireland another big score over the Russkies. Showed how bad they really are against Italy and Ireland on a bit of a roll.

Even better, Sale beat Saints last night 🙂 Quote from Diamond :-

"That's down to the players. The team spirit is generated on the training field, not in a bar or a bowling alley."

Wonder what he was getting at? 😆

Nice to see england playing with a bit of width, mixing it up a little bit.
I think we can say that england have arrived at the WC too.

Are Romania poor, or did Scotland just make them look good? 😛

Even the England scrum is looking better. As don and the ITV commentators are saying, England have arrived.
