Is it odd that there can be people that frequent this site that no one else knows, seems odd to me as I meet lots of STWers.

This thread is funny, all we need is neil from superstar to make this thread complete.

I loved the 'do you people not have tellys' line.

manwells is such a fanny.

Why does he has so many bikes for sale in the classifieds?

And the irony of it - we are sad for spending time on here slagging him off after he came on here to slag someone off.

Anyone know where I can get some brake pads for my Kona? I've done a search and "Superstar Components" comes up a lot? Any good? Also, where can I get the frame serviced by an expert? It needs new bearings.

he's either very young, very stupid or very immature - must be at least one of the three.

Iv'e used Ron Spencer a couple of times for wheel repairs etc , always found them ok .If you can't fix it yourself you've got to pay.

Fiver sounds cheap to me. Out of interest how do you get them out? Due to my general hamfistedness I seem to have rounded five of the six on my back wheel.

Dont think he's kaesae - I'll admit that the ranting is very similar, but his spelling's much better. Then again, 'they' could be the same person just trolling, or does that sound a bit paranoid ?

Re: The cockometer feature a few pages back...

A little web-app and a firefox plugin would soon have that running.

From Ron after I thought we should get his view on the event.

The customer negated to mention he was given a new bolt as well and the member of staff broke from his lunch to do it whilst he waited. All this during our busiest time of year for the workshop as all our Christmas bikes built.

Kind Regards

Ron Spencer Cycles

Having bought two bikes from RS in the past, I would like all to know I found them helpful and curteous at all times.

LOL! I guess Maxwell won't be welcome there anymore. Still, if he can't fix his own bike and get out, he could always sit watching his big telly.

I thought the opener was quite funny. Didn't expect to see so many lofty equines. Wasn't it meant to be a joke? Now he's banned from his LBS, probably be shunned on the trails. Next he'll be hanging from a tree by his neck. Hope you're all happy with youselves.

I don't think it was meant as a joke at all - the reference to £6000 an hour makes it seem a genuine rant. And he used Caps Lock...

Yes, because being told you're wrong often causes suicidal tendencies 😉

Sometimes it pays to give free help; I was surprised that a garage helped me take my car's punctured wheel off for free recently (stuck on alloy wheel) but in return I used them to replace the tyre which was about 20% more than I'd usually pay as normally use a cheaper mobile fitter. If they'd charged too much - whatever that might seem to be - then I'd have used a mobile fitter. So all good.

Always expect to pay for a service but ensure you reward unwarranted kindness!

Being honest £5 would bite at me too, when I worked in a bike shop we'd do stuff like that for free because it brought in more business. But it's not a bad price for something requiring tools you dont have and skills you dont have. But it's clearly a troll anyway.

I kind of agree - doing it for free may benefit the business in the long term, but it doesn't mean that charging £5 was out of order. I would be quite happy if someone managed to fix something I didn't have the tools or knowhow to do for just a fiver.

FFS what a tool, 5£ is only enough to buy 2 coffees. Some people should really learn not to speak.

I'd buy manwell is a bell end t shirt for a fiver would be funny to see a few dozen riders on the trails wearing the shirts and all the procceds could be donated to mencap or similar mental health charity
