How can this be done without expensive equipment?
I am sure that a couple of years ago I recorded directly from a cassette player to the computer using a jackplug connection from headphone out to mic in.
Now there is nothing!! Was it just a dream?
Thanks
maplin sell a tape deck with a usb plug on it + software to rip the music
There will be software out there that does it "Spin Doctor" for the Mac, part of the Toast bundles will do it, it also makes a reasonable stab at spotting the tracks so you can sometime input a whole album without ending up with one big slab of music. If you've got a MIC input on the computer you don't need any special harware. The decks you get in Maplin and PC world differ only in that they plug in via USB rather than the mic input.
Thanks.... I remember now that the computer used to have Audacity installed. It was a case of plugging in and recording. Downloading Audacity again.. 😀
I use this.
I've found it does the job fine.
