We will be in touch
Sorry to ask this question again but newest post I can find on this is over a year old.
I'm (hopefully) about to buy first house and have been looking at home insurance that'll cover bikes. The main issue is that we will have no option but to store them either in a detached garage (over the road, no power) or in a shed (stud built and insulated) as space in the house is restrictive to say the least and putting 5 bikes plus a tandem inside really wont work...
Admiral are looking a pretty firm favourite at the moment coming in about £80 per year cheaper than the others I've checked and I've clarified I would be covered if they are in a locked shed or garage with no further security (of course there will be plenty of further security added) but I wanted to check nobody has any particularly bad experiences with them (related to the bike policies) and any recommendations of anyone else to use!
Aviva is who I'm with but check all the details of cover as a lot of companies/underwriters seen to keep moving the goal posts.
Used to be with Pedalcover but changed to Aviva because of their change for outbuilding cover.
Pedalcover are brilliant. Your bikes are insured for competition as well, in case that's important to you. They're as cheap an my previous home insurance was without bikes. I've claimed through them (*for a TV that got smashed, not a bike) and they were first class.
Pedalcover to Aviva here too for similar reasons (change in outbuilding cover) the Aviva standard policy gives some bike cover at home anyway, but they also have an add-on where you declare your most expensive bike and get more cover home and away. As always read the fine print though!
I'm with Admiral - weren't the cheapest but covered upto £5k of bikes in our detached garage with the only condition being that the garage is locked. Not had to find out how good they are yet though
LV home & contents.... circa £9k worth of bikes in a detached garage and covered away from home for £280
I’m with Halifax (from pedalcover) due to the outbuilding change in there policy 10k worth of bikes for £286 per year

I started a thread last week for exact same reason.
Going with Halifax as offers best balance of coverage for house and the least restrictions on bikes.
